Unfortunately I'm afflicted with a Man U supporting wife and she's been on at me for years to take her over to old toilet - I always told her as soon as she got tickets then I would go. Little did I know that they'd be for Manu vs Liverpool and in the stretford end of all places. :banghead:

What's my chances of making it out alive ?, obviously I'll not be declaring my true allegiance but I'll not be pandered to the mancs either.

Any of you guys have experience you'd like to share and maybe tips to keep me out of trouble ?

Cheers

just try and restrain yourself when stevie score's a blinder in the last minute and runs the length of the pitch to celebrate with you in the manc fans and gets pulled up bu the FA

I don't know how people can go and watch a math under such circumstances, i wouldn't get any enjoyment out of going if i had to keep quiet and be on the edge all game. I'd much rather watch it in a pub and have a bevvie

I went to Liverpool v Manyoo a few years ago - the one where Gerrard scored the screamer - with a mate who supports Manyoo and another mate who's an Ipswich fan but was supporting Liverpool. We were in the main stand and I was going mental with my Ipswich fan mate giving good support. My mate, who is the loudest non-stop chat and banter merchant I know, was in stunned silence throughout. Priceless.

On a different scale I have watched Ireland play in Switzerland among the Swiss fans and gone bananas when ireland scored only to be met by.....disapproving stares from outraged Swiss fans.

I also know Rep of Ireland fans who were in Windsor Park in 1993 when Alan McLoughlin scored and somehow kept quiet to avoid a battering.

Next time they'll send you a strongly worded letter.

You've picked the right game for it

After the s*** throwing, piss throwing, Alan Smith 'affair' and the total wrecking of Old Trafford by our 'fans' - there is going to be f***ing murder.

I normally go - but on this occasion I'll be in Liverpool having a quiet bevvy instead.

I should possibly point out that I'm not going because I think the ground is a f***ing pit full of f***ing c**** - rather than being put off by the murder that may or may not occur.

Don't wear colours, don't let on to anyone that you support Liverpool no matter what happens, but more importantly don't let your missus give the game away, she'll be in danger just as much as you.

Alternatively, just don't go.

Cheers for playing down the situation Andy, much appreciated !!

I'll not be wearing colours and will be keeping it all inside, I've also made it clear that the wife has to make sure not to give the game away.

Hopefully I'll be alright and as mentioned above my good old norn iron accent won't give any clues.

how many tickets do Liverpool get for this fixture. Do we take them all up?

Is it dangerous or can you enjoy it there?

3,000

All snapped up within hours.

Yes and sometimes.

I dont go to Old Trafford anymore, truth be told

Its to mad now days, the game seems to be getting worse and worse every year as well. Its the only fixture that is still like an 1980's away trip

Our lot will be getting in at the end for the first time in years, unless the Manchester police decide different at the last minute.

I've done it once, NEVER again.

Surrounded by hate filled inbred feckwits singing bonfire songs, pathetic shower of c*nts, it's intolerable mate don't do it.

My first Liverpool game, I was at the Strettford End with a cousin of mine who's a Manc.

I was only 15 then and it was a good lesson for an OOC'er about the hate the Mancs have for Liverpool. Sadly, I still remember most of the words for that Hillsborough chant they do.

It was the worst two hours of my life. ;)

Right, I was concerned and playing it up for the sake of entertainment but now I'm not looking forward to it in the slightest but the tickets are paid for and flights booked so I'm going. Feck them.

I'll say nothing to nobody and hope that we trounce them, fate owes me that much as my first game at anfield I had to watch the mancs beat us 3-1.

You'll be fine mate.

As someone said;

Don't wear colours

Don't give yourself away

Don't rise to the bait of them taunting Liverpool fans and going on about Hillsbrough outside the game (I usually 'accidentally' push a few out of the way and stand on their toes as we move out - but don't do anything overly naughty and you'll be fine)
