Croatia will drop points in other games for sure.

Macedonia are very awkward and so are israel.

This will all come down to the wire even though we have a joker of a manager.

The last two times croatia played england outside of croatia we put up 4 goals in both games.

 

- Beating a pathetic England team under the worst manager we've had since Taylor is all these Croatians have. It's pretty sad really. How small time.

 

- Croatia beat THE worst England team since Kevin Keegan was in charge, and you some how think you're better than us?

what's your take on slaven bilic as a manager by the way? i always liked him as a player until he got blanc sent off in the '98 world cup.

stevie,i like bilic as manager because he has balls to put da silva and petric over klasnic and olic.da silva and petric are in better form right now.previous managers would put klasnic because he plays in better club then those two,or because his market value is bigger or something like that...alibi managers...

and corluka,played as rb last night...he would never be picked by others...and bilic was his coach at u21 team and knows exactly what he's capable of.

Bilic is a smart guy, isn't he a fully-qualified lawyer? Not many professional footballers can say that.

 

I heard him talking in advance of the game, and compared it to the same old crap you could have predicted word for word coming from everyone in the England camp, and thought 'here's a guy who knows what he's on about'. He said some things about England which our press were getting all huffy about, but he was absolutely right - we don't play to anywhere near the sum total of our players' ability which has to be down to the manager.

 

At the end of the day, Croatia and England will almost certainly both qualify. I almost hope England don't qualify to get rid of McClaren - watching them scrape through by thrashing a load of countries with hardly enough people in them to make up a full squad and edging Croatia 1-0 at home with a deflected Lampard shot, before failing miserably in the main competition is just so predictable and depressing.

 

I say I 'almost' wish they'd lose so McClaren would be replaced, but then I remember the FA will probably pick another plant pot in his place. Perhaps they could bring back Sven but give him a 10 year contract this time with a bonus for beating Andorra, increased salary and all the FA bitches he can fit on his yacht.

 

The last England team which really entertained me was Euro '96. Ten years not just without winning anything, but without even enjoying watching the international team play at all. I'm not bothered about internationals like I am my club of course, not even close. But its still a shame I can't even enjoy watching England play - even if they brought in a gung-ho manager who at least got them to entertain a bit whilst shipping goals, that would be a huge improvement.

 

Croatia looked a decent outfit, and I think Bilic will get the best out of them. They deserved to win comfortably on Wednesday end of story.

yes,bilic has law diploma(did i put it right?),and he speaks 4 foreign languages.he also plays in rock band and is real refreshment after all those previous managers.

 

he is a blue nose cn*t,he played for hajduk split,but is still my choice for national team.

Blue-nose or not he was also a very, very good centre-half whose career was tainted by injuries.

I remember seeing Bilic in a hotel in Whsiton a few days after he signed for Everton. He was sat in the bar having a few beers on his own and smoking like a chimney. A few young lads (Reds) in there were throwing ciggies at him shouting "Ere y'are lad, these are a present from Robbie Fowler".

 

Was pretty funny.

Did Fowler ever score against him? I can't remember Bilic for Everton at all.

Nope - in fact he only played in 1 derby (1-1 at Anfield in Feb '98)

 

Bilic scored against us while he was with the happy Hammers though (we won 2-1 at Upton Park in Sep '96)
