3 subs,

Bring on two wingers and a forward when 2-0 down.

Take off the striker most likely to get on the end of crosses. and the one on form :D

Leave the other striker on, who hasn't scored for ages and is not fit because he's the medias' darling :D

Take off a midfielder who shouldn't even have been near an England shirt in the first place, but leave Carrick on (who wouldn't win a race with Hamann) and leave Super Frank on because he's the greatest central midfield player ever. :D

Takes off the defender who is the least popular with the press and leave on another defender who is one bad tackle away from a red card because he is popular despite playing s***. :D

McClaren, you are another clueless media puppet.

We knew this before he got the job ;)

The only ones who did'nt know it? Those stoopid old gits at the FA.

How long will they wait before giving the red faced buffoon the boot? One year? Two? Three?

You've gotta laugh. Same mistakes time and time and time and time again. He'll probably last till the Euros which England will eventually stroll into considering they are in such a piss easy group only to fold when it counts as usual.

Ginger will get the boot and someone like fat sam will get the job only to repeat it all again in the world cup....

I love the fact that it makes Allardyce look really s*** if the FA considered Maclaren over him

Its great stuff seeing it all crumble.

Radio 5 live saying that Sven lost 1 competitive game in 5 years, Maclaren has lost 1 in 5 games  !!

I cannot understand how the FA expected England to move on under him. He was too close to the camp for the last few years... It needed a whole fresh slate, someone not afraid of doing rash decisions, not just dropping Beckham, we are talking ones that involve big names... dropping Lampard etc I am talking about.

Yes and it has been ongoing for the past 35 yrs. McClaren isn't the only guilty one, what is it with England managers and their inability to pick a TEAM that can play effectively with each other? Is it because in England we focus too much on individuals?

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.

Listening to him and he may as well said I didn't think we had any chance of winning here. Therefore I played the most defensive team I could. What a fecking piss poor outlook. I long for the days when teams played 4-4-3 home and away. The tactical genius's England have employed over the past 40 years have all failed to be confident or courageous. Instead they have once again bored the pants off us.

4-4-3? No keeper then?

Very good of McClaren to leave Cashley on hobbling about though.

I assume losing on pens doesn't count as losing then

McClaren never did anything in his club career to justify getting the job in the first place. It seems the only qualification needed was to be born in England.

The only surprise is that it took 5 games for them to work out how sh*te he is.

Going on Englands form over the past 18 months, qualification is far from guaranteed. Israel & Russia away will be very hard games for them and Croatia are quite capable of wining in England.

The only guaranteed wins I can see are the Estonia and Andorra games.

And thats probably put the mockers on that then. :D

Just goes to show, England are a one man team, fecking s*** without Gerrard. :D

McClaren will be out by the summer.

I'd be very surprised if that is the case. I think he'll remain in the job even if England don't qualify for the Euro 2008 finals. The FA lack the balls to do what needs to be done.

I was thinking that whilst watching the game its almost as if he changed the formation to compensate for his absence....

I think they may bag him even if England DO qualify, exactly because they lack balls. He's going to be a punchbag from here to whenever he gets inevitably fired as a chump. The FA will cave in and promote El Tel.

Part of Tels master plan. Just after the second goal you saw him on the bench talking to McClaren.

TV - "Right Steve, put on Richardson, Defoe and Wright-Phillips"

SM - "OK Terry, and we'll take off Rooney, Ferdinand and Lampard"

TV- "No, they're doing fine, take off Carragher, Parker and Crouch"

SM -"Righto, good plan"

TV - thinks... The Jobs mine by Christmas

I was less than impressed by the performance of the 'captain' in defense. 'Cat on a hot tin roof' sums it up I think. I understand that the reason why he was playing the middle of the back 3 was because he was looking even worse on the left! Ferdinand should have been in the middle, with Terry left and Carra right. Or Terry dropped if can't hack a back 3.

If you're going to play 352 then play wingers, not fullbacks. OK - maybe Cole on one side but Wright-Phillips on the other.

I do have to feel a bit sorry for McLaren, after all he was missing J. Cole, Hargreaves, Gerrard, Lennon (which would probably be my pick for a 4 man England midfield) and Owen as well. Which no-one seems to be mentioning. It does show the lack of depth in the England squad though.
