Tosh Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) that Ingurlund will play 3-5-2 tonight "with Carragher coming in for the injured Downing" So the centre back gets to play left wing back. Sven obviously taught McLaren everything he knew (edit: Damn, they have changed it, Carra for King) Edited October 11, 2006 by Tosh
Leo No.8 Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Great news - that formation and team means with Parker and Carrick in behind him, Lamps will get the free role his England performances lately have deserved. Even Frank doesn't get that one: 'What the f*ck's that all about Steve - I'm clearly crap'.
Gilps Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 So that's Gary Neville as a wing back then? Marvellous.
Guest Cardie Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Even if it was Carragher for Downing it would have still made sense. If you switch from 442 to 532 then a midfielder has to drop out to make way for the extra defender be it Downing, Lampard or Carrick.
Leo No.8 Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Stewart Downing is Jason Wilcox reincarnated - very similar player in my opinion. Wilcox rightly only got a handful of caps for England; he was just a steady left midfielder who put a decent ball in and scored the odd goal but wouldn't often go past the full-back and couldn't be relied upon to change a game. Very similar to Downing, who absolutely should not be starting for England even with Cole out injured. However of the players coming in, I'm delighted to see Parker in there. I think he's fantastic - loads of energy and a very positive player. Its a shame the way his career was temporarily put on hold by his move to Chelsea, but he's starting to get his game back to what it was when he was so outstanding for Charlton. I'd tip him to shine tonight for England.
Ostrich Man Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 'What the f*ck's that all about Steve - I'm clearly crap'.is he not englands highest goalscorer from the present squad though?
Will Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Crouchy is only one behind him after 15 rather than 49 caps
Bailo Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Crouchy is only one behind him after 15 rather than 49 caps But but but Crouchy's only scored v poor oppositizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Kahnee Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 is he not englands highest goalscorer from the present squad though? Highest as in the altitude his shots reached during the WC?
Guest Jack Bauer Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Why is Carragher replacing King? What's that s*** about?
Puskas Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Why is Carragher replacing King? What's that s*** about?King is injured, Carra is replacing him Downing (I just typed Wilcox ) will be dropped, and Cole and Neville will be wing backs (I expect). With Wright-Phillips to come on for Neville if the game needs chasing. It will be interesting to see how they go with a 352, I've been saying for years that England's strengths are at centre back and centre mid, so play the system that allows you have as many of each as you can on the pitch!
Big G Superhero Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Not much creativity in that team though...

lfc003 Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 the formation seems more like a very defensive 5-3-2 to me
_00_deathscar Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Not much creativity in that team though... As opposed to the 4-4-2 system which was oozing creativity?
Earl Hafler Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Ferdinand - in a system supposedly ideal for him - is being shown up as the defender he is. Absolute gash so far. Positional sense ? Concentration ?Nah..why bother with that when you can stroll into midfield with the ball and lay off a pass ?
Guest Jack Bauer Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 @ Lampard f***ing beaut. Why the f*** do you shoot from 35 yards, with a defender right next to you? It rolls wide slowly, then Croatia nearly go up and are very unlucky not to be one up. England would probably be winning if Gerrard was where Lampard was.
Nebraska Red Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 England getting battered right now, but still 0-0. The England midfield is non existent and the whole team is giving away way too many fouls.
Shirohana Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Lampard is so feckin' s****... Everytime I think he'll show something that allowed him to get in the fifa top 3 and everytime I end up screaming at the w***er. Ffs how many chances can one player get to prove himself. He's a steaming pile of dogt*** that's what he is.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Bunch of passengers in that midfield.
Nebraska Red Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 just noticed that Rooney is playing. why don't the England team get the ball to him? Parker and Neville are woeful. Terry beats his man and then passes straight to an opposing player.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Second best player in the world passes the ball back to the keeper from the corner thur. I want to beat Ashley Cole up.
Shirohana Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 I want to beat Ashley Cole up. I'll hold him for you.
