Curious that Peter Taylor claimed Walcott wasn't "match fit" and kept him on the bench until the 75th minute. England were on the rack for most of the second half and extra time/pennos was looking very much on the cards!

ermmmmm, Germany had to actually score before extra time/pennos became an issue.

 

Dunno the stats but as regards match fitness i'd guess Walcott hasn't had a huge amount of pitch time this season in comparison to the others.

 

 

Anyway, the main point being his acceleration, pace and finishing was superb. Arsenal look like they may have themselves a player.
