To be fair, Gerrard is so off form it is terrible. yep, it may be he's wasted out right - if indeed that is his brief today but

 

Carrick and Lampard have not one ounce of pace, and Lampard cannot pass to save his life

Rooney is woefully off form and playing far too deep as he actually HAS some pace

And Gerrard is drifting in the worst sense of the word.
