What are the best way and/or cheapest way to travel from Manchester Airport to Liverpool? I?m coming over for the City match and have never traveled through Manchester before?.

I hope some of you lads who travel between the two cities often can help me a bit.

Cheers!

There's a train station right in Manc airport, which I'm sure has trains that go straight to Liverpool.

And do I need to book tickets in advance or can I get them at the airport?

Which reminds me, no not that yer a c*** ;) but we're out of Manc airport at about 7am to fly to Bordeaux. Must remind someone to book a taxi so we can grab a couple of hours extra kip.

I did last time over, scarf, jacket and all...wasn't my brightest moment I guess! There I am on the platform at Picadilly and I ask the nearest attendant I find which was the train to Lime Street! Easily could have sent me on my way!

I always use Davy Cabs, first time I used them I was on a day-trip from Ireland bringing my father to his first game. Davy cabs picked us up at Mancland and dropped us to Lime street and we asked him if he'd take us back again that night. He said no problem, and wouldn't accept any money until the evening, how nice was that ?

If you fly on match day, there will be plenty of Norwegian/Irish/Whatever people comming over for the same reason as you.

Talk to some of them right out of the airport, and share a cab. I did it with a bunch of guys from Belfast last I came over from Copenhagen and it cost me like £7... got me right to Anfield!

Otherwise, you can take the train just outside the airport. You'll have to change at Manchester Picadilly, which means: wear no colors on you when travelling....

The cab thing works best, imho.

Good luck, man. I wish I was there too! :applause:

if you call one of the private hire companies like "delta" around 30 quid. but i'm pretty sure it's about 60 in a black cab from outside the airport.

With Delta its:

£30 from Liverpool to Manc air

£35 from Manc Air to liverpool (only cos the driver has to pay to park, getting up there etc)
