Football tours

I have been asked to come up with some proposals to take our boys footy team on tour - I will also be expected to organise and lead the tour.

 

Anyone any good (sensible) suggestions?? France/Benelux countries are a bit dull, Scandinavia has been done to death, was thinking maybe US or South Africa.

US would be a good one, Paul. NHE will tell you similarly, youth football is REALLY big mostly everywhere in the United States and they'd be excited to get a touring group come over here to play. Also, the way the $ is right now it would be a fairly inexpensive option.

Yeah ? theres loads up here that play ? schools, recreational league ? pro teams that have extensive youth set ups. They?d probably assist with setting up games as well. What sort of time of year?

Thinking about maybe the UK half-term week at the end of May 07.

 

We would most likely organise it through a professional set-up here (Gullivers Travels or similar).

Assuming you are up for it, make sure the lads have enough time to adjust after travelling or else the games will be a failure. Europe avoids all that sort of difficulty and is cheaper (air fares). If you do want to go the distance though the US sounds like a very good choice.

 

Of course, I'd recommend China, but I always do...

We'll farm it out to a specialist tour firm - but they keep asking awkward questions like "where do you want to go?"

My mate at work went on one with his lad to Holland and raved about it. The adults also went on a day/night trip to Amsterdam.
