Is becoming alarming. I dont buy into all the conspiracy stuff and people saying they're on the take (Well i'd hope not anyway). it's just that they're woeful.

I appreciate it's a very hard job with only a split second decision as an option but its no excuse for some of the stuff thats going on. I also appreciate they're also human and make mistakes but I just cant understand stuff thats been happening all season and today.

Angel through on goal, Makelele actually jumps on Angel's back yet not even a foul is given when it should of been a free kick and a red card. I think it looked worse than what it was but it was still a foul and a red card.

Gallas puts his arm above his head, the ball smashes off his arm and yet nothing is given. What the f*** is his arm doing above his head when the Charlton player has the ball with his feet setting himself up for an overhead kick? Nailed on peno and nothing given. Hoyte should also of been booked at least for that lunge yet there wasnt even a foul given. Van Persie should also of apparently been sent off for kicking someone off the ball (MOTD didnt show it so I cant comment fully on that), he stays on the pitch and scores 2 to win Arsenal the game.

Theres our one today which was just a horrendous f*** up, it wasnt even close yet he's seen something that didnt even happen. I also heard on the Radio this evening that he's the same clown who give Ameobi's goal against the s**** last weekend when he was about 2 yards offside. If he officiates in the Prem again this season i'll be sickened.

The Everton - Watford game where the ball hit Chris Powells face and he got a penalty given against him.

Our penalty at Sheff Utd was dodgy as hell and seeing as it was given why the f*** was the defender not sent off? You'll never see a clearer last man. A huge f*** up giving it then not sending the man off when it was given.

Obviously every team benefits from the clowns although this "It evens itself out" s**** does my head in but some of the stuff thats happening is horrendous and these are only a few examples, we could have pages and pages if we really wanted to. They've always made mistakes and always will but the mistakes seem to be getting bigger and more frequent or does it just feel like that today because we were robbed while our rivals got massive joy from s**** officials?

I find it a big worry and while it still doesnt stop teams upping their game to get back into the match if you have been robbed it does change games a hell of a lot.

Sooner or later there will be a huge scandal involving corruption and premiership officials. It is inevitable.

At least when it comes we know we won't be part of it.

Completely agree with the top post. There's just f*** up after f*** up at the moment. When I saw ours today it just struck me as a lad looking to get his face on MOTD having made a "brave call" when in fact he was so wrong.

The linesman's job can be a difficult one when it comes to close offside decisions, or whether the ball crossed the goal line.

In this case, however, there was no pressure on the linesman. He didn't have to make that decision. Most keepers throw the ball up and kick it when they are outside the area in the same way that Reina did. Linesmen should not make that kind of decision unless they are 100% sure of what they have seen.

we should have stayed in the changing room at half time in protest against the decision

what's particularly annoying about that one is, you'll only see one call like that per season. If you're calling something once, you have to get it right.

Mistakes are made, I even accept that. We'll benefit from some & suffer from others. But something as fundamental as that, you have to get right all the time. He couldn't have been 100% certain, he wasn't even in a feckin good position to adjudicate. That's what really f***s me off about it.

Wonder what he thought when he saw the replays? I'd be ashamed

What made me laugh on the commentary was that Andy Gray was salivating that Reina had been caught because "he does it all the time" the fecker was quick to gloss over that fact when he saw the replay.

That's part of the reason why i think Poll is so crap, so inconsistent. He's thinking about his decisions being highlighted in the media. That goal Henry scored where Poll let him take the kick quickly - how many times did Poll do that all season ? How many times since ? ( not sure if there's been a rule change ). He gave a handball against Lehmann a couple of weeks ago and lied about his positioning.

Poll is a diabolical official.

I sympathise with the assistants in that their job is too complicated and seems to be made more difficult every season but the decision on Saturday was shocking.

I think the referreeing has been abysmal this season.

Poll was clueless in the derby and was slated by both fans

the offside against everton was a joke and that decision yesterday by lineo was just incompetent.

I dont go with this evens itself out over the season if you lose points in a match due to poor refereeing it puts presure on the next game

Why the feck can't the 4th official have a monitor at the side of the pitch to review incidents like that free kick against Reina on Saturday. It would be much better for the Ref to go over and review the play for 20 seconds and make the right call rather than spoiling the outcome of the game. It's not like the players and Ref can't see it on the big screens at the game anyway.

The Referees and linesman used to talk to each othet over certain incidents now the Refs give whatever the linesman calls.

It's like they are determined to have some crucial part in the outcome of the game. How many times does the FA have to watch replays the following day to see Refs have screwed up and ruined crucial games without making any changes?

In the NFL which has so many technical calls you very rarely see games decided on bad officiating calls because of the vidoe review.

I never wanted any kind of video evidence, but in light of the way refereeing has gone in recent years I think it may be inevitable.

The fact that there is so much diving going on doesn't help though, that they don't punish it retrospectively is absolutely outrageous. In my rules, Zokora would get a red card afterwards...

I wasn't into the idea til a couple of years ago - I think it migt have been that manc-arsenal game that pushed me over the edge.

I see no reason whatsoever why video replays can't be used. The ref can call for them and each captain can have a limit of 3 appeals each game, for instance. At the most you might get games extended by about five minutes.

totally agree. Between the Spurs game & our game over the w/end, it would have taken no time for the 4th official to adjudicate & 2 wrongful goals wouldn't be.

FIFA did it in the WCF, time to move on to the rest of the game

How would they have restarted the game after consulting the 4th official for Pepe's kickout? (I'm not suggesting that this is a dealbreaker, I'm just curious about the possibilities in soccer.)

Give the ball back to the 'keeper to get on with it?

With the ball back in Pepe's hands?

They couldn't, really, could they? Would that not be like the taker of a free-kick just starting to dribble up the pitch?

Goal kick to us and a yellow card/bullet in the back of the knee for the linesman.

To be fair, the whole point is that he's restricted to his area :)
