madaboutlfc Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Anthony Le Tallec claims he does not want to return to Liverpool. The young Frenchman is currently on loan at Sochaux from Liverpool after failing to establish himself under Rafa Benitez. Le Tallec spent the whole of last season on loan at Sunderland and the season before that he had a six-month spell at St Etienne as he struggled to make an impact at Anfield. The French Under-21 international does not believe he has been given a fair chance under Benitez and is determined to get his career back on track at Sochaux. "Stability is the most important thing for me," Le Tallec told skysports.com. "I am fed up with being loaned all the time. "When you are being loaned, you can't invest yourself. "Coming back to Liverpool for pre-season training every year and then leaving is not a nice situation. "My contract with Sochaux includes an option for a permanent move. "So I hope I will stay next season, and I will do everything for it. "It depends on my performances and on the staff." The skilful forward admits he enjoyed his spell at Sunderland even though they suffered relegation and he insists he has no regrets over his time at Liverpool "Playing for Sunderland has definitely been a superb experience," added Le Tallec "The fans have been great in spite of the poor results. "The atmosphere within the squad was fantastic. "And I have discovered the real English culture. "At Liverpool, there are so many foreigners, not everybody speaks English? "That club is international. "I have really enjoyed that experience at The Stadium of Light. "That is true that Rafa Benitez has axed every French players of the squad. "I don't know if he has a problem with French people, I don't want to cause problems. "And he has signed Momo Sissoko, who was born in Paris. "Anyway, that is an old story for me. "I won't play again for Liverpool, that is over. "My cousin Florent (Sinama-Pongolle) is happy with his new club (Recreativo de Huelva). "The coach really wanted to welcome him, and that is important. "Their start of the season has been great, so it is the best for his integration. "I don't regret to have joined Liverpool at the age of 18. "When I came, Gerard Houllier really trusted me. "I was part of his plans, and was always in the team. "I consider my first season at the club superb. "I have learned a lot, training with the stars. "But when Gerard (Houllier) left, everything changed. "I am still young (21) and I need to play regularly." Le Tallec remains determined to fulfil his ambitions of playing for a top club again and breaking into the senior French national team. "I want to be watched for the next two or three years," said Le Tallec. "But don't think I am not ambitious any more. "I am anxious to come back to a big club in order to play Champions League football in the future. "But I will take my time. "Our generation (France Under-21 squad) is very talented. "We want to copy youngsters Rio Mavuba, Julien Faubert, Jeremy Toulalan and Franck Ribery. "Maybe three or four players will be called into the French national team one day. "Coach Raymond Domenech is famous for trusting young players." http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...out+Reds+return

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 if he really said all of that, he truly is a bell
_00_deathscar Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I used to have hope. What an utter c***.

Bigal Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 bet he gets a better reception than Owen when he returns... nah, he will be booed too, obssessed with the national team t***
Gomez Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 During the world cup that despite all the french players we had signed, the fact that there was not a single Liverpool player in the French team was quite damning. I know Cisse would probably had played barring injury, and Diarra was sort of ours at one point, but you look at the French players we didn't sign but other English clubs did: Henry, Gallas etc and you wonder how we could have signed so many and not got a decent one that succeeded here. You look at Spain and we have two key players in the squad. (and Pepe)
koppper Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 "That is true that Rafa Benitez has axed every French players of the squad. Cooldude Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Classic example of a huge talent f***ing himself up due to having s*** for brains
Phil236849 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 i think he cant help but spout as he's embarrassed with what he's got to show for the last 3 years
Guest Jack Bauer Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 It's obvious he has been asked these questions in an interview..
Jambo Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 This is pure poetry!"When I came, Gerard Houllier really trusted me. "I was part of his plans, and was always in the team. Guz Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 This is pure poetry!Powerful stuff. Dunno if he says THAT much wrong there but i do wonder what he actually said in French because the article just looks like an odd collection of soundbites.
madaboutlfc Posted September 27, 2006 Author Posted September 27, 2006 i had big hopes for him.. but hes just a waste of talent.. this f***en pisses me off when ppl waste whats naturally gifted to them
Flasher Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Don't see what he said wrong to be honest. If I played for a club in France, didn't quite make it and was always loaned out I wouldn't want to go back there either. He knows he's not going to play for Liverpool, end of. Shame though. He clearly had and may still have talent.
shanklyn Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Nowhere near good enough , him or his cousin (to a lesser extent). Le Gems have both been a massive failure imo. Over hyped before and after they arrived with neither having more than a few good games for us. (I know some were important games so dont have a go) A real shame how they have turned out.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Pongolle wasn't a failure, at least European cup and FA Cup say so.
stressederic Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 He's obviously an a***, but we still should have given them both more games when they first arrived. That loaning them out for a full season straight away was pointless.
RaoulD Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 It does appear that the quotes are replies to questions put to him and therefore the contest is difficult to ascertain. The fact is that Le Tallec has not realised his potential despite being given opportunities which a lot of young players would be extremely pleased with. It is amusing to see his appraisal of Houllier and Domenach given the latter's criticism of Houllier for bringing the two to Liverpool too early when they were unlikely to play in many games. His problem is more his lack of application and effort to make the most of the skill he was blessed with. His cousin was unfortunate not to get a run of games in the team but achieved far more with no obvious sign of the frustration that inevitably arises from being a perennial sub/reserve team player. Pongolle will be remembered for his decisive contributions in games on the path to both the European Cup in 2005 and the FA Cup last season. Le Tallec's contribution is already fast disappearing into the ether!
G Richards Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I think Le Tallec has the talent to pop up at a big club later in his career and do well. He certainly does not have the right 'mentality' at this point in his life, so he won't be in Rafa's plans.
Coyler Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 This is pure poetry!Powerful stuff.Definitely can be made to pass the I Will Survive test.
