Andy @ Allerton Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 I've heard this mentioned many times - quite often by the press and sometimes by people on here. What would it mean to the club exactly? What would be the Pros? What would be the Cons? What would it mean to the state of the pitch? What are your personal views on the matter? And finally if pushed for a yes or a no - based on the above - what would you vote for? YES or NO?
matty Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 We should share with Man United, City and Everton. And Chelsea. It might f*** the pitch, but by god, think of the merchandisingi!!!! And the hot dogs, AND the coffee, and the cheese, AND the persil. I vote YES, and no, dependning on the circusmtantances. aplyin g. aty the time.
Will Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Interesting - I have never heard a single sole discussing a ground share at Anfield. What would be the point?

Lee W Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 It would be a sole-less decision to groundshare. I codn't face sharing with anyone.
Kopfaithful Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 (edited) Everton's plans for the Kings Dock failed because of their inability to raise their portion of the deal (30-odd million if I remember). How exactly are they supposed to come up with the 100m required to share with us? However, I would have no issues with them being tennants in our stadium. Edited September 27, 2006 by js
Guest ritchie_50 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 What would be the Cons? The death of football on Merseyside.
impware Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 It is time to close the ground share idea for once and all. We should take the funds we are raising for the new stadium and use them instead to set up an offshore company, with it's links to us well hidden. Like Roman does with his other club interests round the world. This front company then puts a magnificent offer in to buy Everton, lock stock and wooden barrel. Once the purchase goes through we liquidate EFC. Sell Goodison to Tesco. Sell everything. The sale of land and assets would probably get us most of our money back. Then tell the council to do one and build a 90k seat stadium in Kirby for about the cost of the proposed New Anfield. With only one premiership club in Merseyside our average attendances would rise slowly but surely over the years making us financially secure and forever removing the blue stain from our city. That'd give them something to be bitter about!
Figaro Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 it's bad enough sharing the forum with every other Manc and Bluenose around...
