not sure how rafa's going to manage this but i can see appearances (inc subs) for all of crouch with the other strikers, warnock riise and aurelio on the left, garcia, gonzalez and pennant on the flanks, and sami as well as the carra-agger duo in CB. as well as bolo and even fowler possibly. given up trying to guess rafa's actual selections though. Anyone want to try?

Judging from these comments I think we can assume Crouch will be recalled, but the question is will it be for Bellamy or Kuyt?

 

The Galatasaray defence struggled to cope with Trabzonspor's 6ft 4ins striker Ersen Martin, but Benitez is refusing to draw too many conclusions from that game.

 

"I haven't seen their game at the weekend yet," said the manager. "I'll get the reports and watch the video carefully and we'll see whether Peter (Crouch) is a good option or not.

Maybe even both will be rested as Garcia has been talked up a bit by Rafa too this week.

 

"Luis is a player who can change games, do different things, find a clever pass," says Benitez. "He's capable of the best and sometimes the worst. He's scored a lot of very good goals in Europe and is a special player. He's a good option for us to have.

 

"Luis is a player who can produce the best, but also give the ball away too easily. But if you remember the goals that he's scored - they're fantastic and very important. And he always scores 10 to 15 goals each year.

 

"I've always supported him. I tell him to try and do things close to the other box. I remember this year two very good assists - one for Crouch (v West Ham) and another for Kuyt (v Tottenham)."

I'd like to see Crouch playing 60 or 70 minutes at least. I've missed him.

 

If all is going well then I'd like to see what Kuyt and Fowler are like together.

bellamy needs a confidence boost. play him from the start and get luis putting him through.

 

not a bad shout but at home? saying that in the recent games where Luis has played I think we have looked better, more threatening...

I think that Sky shows all the CL games and you can pick which one you want to watch using the red button on your remote like they do on their Football First show on a Saturday night
