Brown's conference speech

He keeps talking about the rules that we all live by and the rules that must be enforced. At the same time he's talking about freedom. Of course societies need rule but the fervour with which he keeps repeating the word 'rules' is a little disturbing.

 

He's spent a lot of time talking about beign British as well and how important it is to be British and how important British values are. I'm still not sure what exactly what that means. Where are British values defined?

 

He expects all immigrants to learn English. I'm still not sure about that. Surely freedom implies the freedom to speack whichever language you choose.

 

I don't overly dislike Brown but I'm not impressed by this speech at all.
