Is it my imagination or is Dunphy pissed? He's definitely rambling like a drunk.

They're both - Giles and Dunphy - really sticking it to Chelsea. Their dislike for them is palpable.

F*ck. I can't believe I missed this. Dunphy talks a huge amount of crap, but I never fail to get a laugh outta him. He is the king of wise-after-the-event analysis (Andy Gray being a close second in his odious 'Last Word' guise').

They all hate Chelsea. Giles, Dunphy and Brady, I mean. I don't count the others.

it was fantastic, i honestly dont beleive theres any better punditry in the english speaking world, RTE have nailed that one spot on

they definetly pointed out the Shevchenko problem, theres no way that portugese c*** is happy with him, i dont see him lasting more than this season, as much as a c*** he is, he is their manager and he, and only he should pick the team and buy the players, he never wanted Chavchenko

He will, but Mourinho probably won't.

I didnt see it but theres a rumour going round that Dunphy tipped us for the title last night :bye:

He kinda mumbled that after tearing Chelsea apart. It was partly why I thought he was hammered. Was talking to a mate of mine earlier who is good 'friends' with Dunphy and apparently he was telling him how much he admired LFC and Rafa. "A proper football club managed by a proper football man" were pretty much his exact words.

Giles has many a good word for Rafa too.

He loves him, but he's regularly perplexed by his mojren methods.

Was Dunphy actually locked on Saturday? Sure he only works one day a week now.

He tipped us to be Chelsea's main challenges and then went on a diatribe about how poor the Mancs squad is.

Good telly ;)

I still dont know whether his anti-United views were dictated by the 'treatment' they handed out to the lovely Roy or a real belief that they are on the way down.

Giles and Dunphy (plus Brady) remain light years ahead of anything you see on UK TV. They provide a great mix of analysis, bad tempered spite and piss taking that you just dont see on the BBC, ITV or Sky.

think its the latter myself....though giles is never quite as damning.

I think it has a lot to do with his over the top affection for Keane myself. I dont quite buy into the "United on the decline" line anyway. Ferguson has made some surprising buys, the Glazer take over has the reek of sulpher about it and they've not had the style of the great United teams of the 90s since well the 90s. However, Ferguson is an extraordinarily good coach, there is the guts of a very good side there and as a club they know about winning.

Personally I'd prefer Liverpool to be competing against United rather than Chelsea at the moment. They are a great club with a proper history unlike Chelsea who embody so much that is base and nasty about modern life.

More generally, I dont like the Anti-United sentiment that frequently gets expressed here (but not as badly as the anti-LFC sentiment found on the sewer that is Red Cafe). I dont need to hate something to love the team I care about. If you expect respect or acknowledgement for your team, then I believe you should be capable to show it for others.

is this ever torrented?

I doubt it, but I'll do a little compilation at some stage if I get a chance so you can see what you're missing. It was hilarious again last night - Dunphy was tearing ManUtd and Ronaldo to pieces (brainless or braindead, he called him) and Giles slated Trevor Steven (who was co-commentating): "I like Trevor, but he's not very good at summing up"
