FanaticDane Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 My opinion:1. Stevie G2. M. Gonzales3. Kuyt
usualsuspect Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 1. Momo (incredible how his passing has improved)2. Gerrard3. Kuyt
4411 Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) For me it was:StevieAggerGarcia Momo was s****, incredible how many times he loses the ball and mis-hits it when he attempts to shoot! Edited September 23, 2006 by Aron Islendingur
John Nada Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Garcia got two assists. Really what more does the guy have to do?! 1. Momo2. Garcia3. Kuyt
Sion Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Garcia got two assists. Really what more does the guy have to do?! 1. Momo2. Garcia3. Kuyt to be fair he only had 15 minutes or so, hardly a MOM performance. Not to take anything away from him, but his first assist was a poor pass controlled brilliantly by Kuyt, and his 2nd assist was just a little 5 yard tap to Riise.

You may argue it was a poor ball but he was in the position to deliver it, and I guarantee any of our other players would've played it to Gerrard as he ran through! He showed the balls to hang on and wait to deliver the ball to Kuyt. As for his second, yeah it didn't look amazing but it took Riise beyond the defender, making it a one on one. If Gerrard came on and did this everyone would be screaming best player in the world, it's bulls**t!
Guest Sabre Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 My opinion:1. Stevie G2. M. Gonzales3. Kuyt Nonsense For me it was:StevieAggerGarcia Momo was s****, incredible how many times he loses the ball and mis-hits it when he attempts to shoot! More nonsense.
McBain Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Nobody truly stood out. So i'll go KuytGerrardGonzalez
Swipe Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Gonzalez and Gerrard in the second half. Tore Spurs to pieces. Agger was fantastic as well. Watch how having a centre half who's good on the ball will improve us no end.
Guz Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Tough one really as the 2nd half was a fantastic performance as a unit, rather than individually. So, Kuyt and Gonzlez for their goals and Gerrard for overall performance SpeedyKuytGerrard
chiliking Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Alonso -the only player who delivered in the first halfFinnan -rock steadyGarcia -great contribution, always looking for opportunities. Gerrard was hugely disappointing in the first half and, despite his second half display, was nowhere near as good as some claim. his attitude during the first half reminded me alot of Cissè, and it pissed me off! :here's supposed to be a smilie, but the feckers won't work for me:

What did you think was wrong with Gerrard's attitude??
Guest Makaveli Smith Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 NonsenseMore nonsense. it's their opinion .. if you're going to rubbish them then maybe you'd want to back that up.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 1. alonso. had a few misplaced passes out to the rightwing, but he was at the heart of everything we did today. Played well in both halves. 2. Garcia - great impact. 3. Agger. Solid at the back, a delight going forwards. He simply brings another dimension to the buildup. I love the way he walks away from pressure. He and Xabi must have the coolest heads in the game. Honourable mentions to Gerrard and momo.

The body language experts are out again that's all Not sure I could pick one player who stood out the most. Kuyt, Gerrard, Garcia and Gonzalez were all good.
