Del Nido wanted to shift him off to Madrid - Madrid's first offer was cash plus Cicinho. Del Nido accepted, Alves said no. Del Nido was working on Alves to get him to change his mind when Cicinho backed out. Madrid then made a cash only offer ?18 million plus incentives to take the total to 20 million to be paid over five years - Del Nido accepted but Alves then publically stated that he wanted to stay in Sevilla CF for another year.
