Who were the two muppets commentating?. Talk about the anti-Liverpool brigade. They were trying everything in their power to give Newcastle a penalty. How many times did they have to say "this isn't a vintage Liverpool performance". It spoils the whole game listening to feckers like this who were probably mediocre players at best. I ended up muting the game.

Co-commentator was Brian Marwood. He single-handedly extended the boundaries of bias last night.

After us dominating for 40 minutes he said

 

"Newcastle haven't really been troubled by Liverpool and I still think Liverpool's defence is suspect".

 

I also loved the suggestion that the referees should consult with the commentators on the penalties. Unfortunately we would have been 4-1 down.

 

Another classic was when Garcia ran to Parker who was holding his face after handling it and Marwood said " He's a fine one to criticise with the antics we have seen out of him since he came to this country"

Watched the highlights on Sky last night, was enjoying them until hearing Brian Marwood, He wasn;t a great player and he's an awful pundit, could he have been any more anti Liverpool than he was last night.

 

1. The moment when Parker went down holding his face, did he mention we should have a had a free kick? No. Did he condemn Parker feigning injury? No. All he did was moan about garcia complaining to the referee, and saying Garcia is one to talk with his antics, yes Garcia has been stupid in the past but is he not allowed to tell the referee he's been conned?

 

2. The first Newcastle Penalty incident, kept going on about it, it was offside, and to me Ameobi Pushed Agger first any way, Marwood admitted the offside, but still later was going on about Newcastle should have had a penalty

 

3. Glosses over the punch by Babayaro

 

4. Carraghers first handball was definately a penalty, the 2nd was unavoidable, yet by this time Marwood was convinced Newcastle should have had 3 penalties, conveniently forgetting the 2nd "handball" happened about 15 seconds after the first, so theres only one opportunity for a penalty.

 

5. Babyaro's handball, most obvious of all the penalties- Marwoods response "that doesn't make up for the 3 Newcastle shoudl have had.

 

 

Is he just bitter cuz when he was playing we were top dogs, or is he just a terrible pundit

Apparently Newcastle was comfortable and totally untroubled until an undeserved 1st goal, even though Newcastle was pinged in their own half for the entire 1st half and we were unlucky not to be further in front

 

What I saw as an even 2nd half which was very opening, he saw as "Newcastle were all over us".

 

And he totally did not say much after Xabi scored, must've been in mourning

Where do they get these supposed footbll experts from, Marwood?? He doesnt know anything about football and if anyone were to talk tactics with him, he'd look back at you with that gormless open mouthed expression of a prick thats blagged himself into a job he knows nothing about.....

 

Same goes fro Robbie Earle, god I hate him, he does not know a single thing about football apart from maybe the fact that the balls round, you play it with eleven players in your side and there are goals at either side of the pitch.... ITV sign him up and when he talks I want to ram my foot down his know nothing chops! He played for Wimbledon FFS, they didnt do tactics they played the footballing equivalent of rugby, kick it long and run after it. He also has the most droning voice in football punditry.

 

I could go on for a while but I think thats my rant for the day.

IM afraid we just have to ut up with their no nothing babble, until eventually they put people into the commentary boxes for special occasions who actually know something like that Leonardo or Marcal Desailly for the BBC in the world cup.

I said nearly all i want to say about him in the match thread. Just one last word :

 

He kept mentioning the Newcastle penalty claims, saying that they'd had 3 which might have made the match differently had they been given.

 

Brian - no mention of our more serious penalty claims ? And life don't work like that, f***wit. Had they been given the first it's a whole new ball game and who's to say we wouldn't have upped our game ?

Marwood is the most anti LFC pundit out there......complete and utter disgrace. I've been moaning about him ever since he I first heard his crap on Prem Plus.
