Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I'll be watching it in Kelly's bar in Ashbourne all things going to plan
chrisbonnie Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 im not watching our games anymore in the soup stations, its plain bad luck!!! although id imagine the cuckoos nest in tallaght will be showing it,
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Anyone fancy meeting up in town somewhere for the game and having a few pints? Would love a few pints but have to head down the country.
Coyler Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Anyone fancy meeting up in town somewhere for the game and having a few pints?I'll meet up with you, Jimmy; out of pity. Won't be drinking, though. I'm on a course of little tablets. Where were you thinking? That place, upstairs *shudder*?
jimmylibel Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I'll meet up with you, Jimmy; out of pity. Won't be drinking, though. I'm on a course of little tablets. Where were you thinking? That place, upstairs *shudder*? Knew there'd be someone who'd reach out to comfort me in my hour of loneliness!! Thanks Coyler. Think that's the only place in town showing it I'm afraid. Would love a few pints but have to head down the country. No worries, we'll have to organise another Dublin YNWA night soon - just so long as it's not a CL night - we cursed ourselves last year with that!!
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Yeah we should do that. Its almost a year since the last one so we should organise it soon. Probably one of our early KO's on a saturday would be good!
jimmylibel Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Yeah we should do that. Its almost a year since the last one so we should organise it soon. Probably one of our early KO's on a saturday would be good! God not sure about that - could you imagine the state of Coyler after that?
jfogarty Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 although id imagine the cuckoos nest in tallaght will be showing it, They were advertising it on Sunday
Benzo-13 Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 No worries, we'll have to organise another Dublin YNWA night soon - just so long as it's not a CL night - we cursed ourselves last year with that!! Yeah, that's a good idea. This time I won't have to split up with a girlfriend during the first half too! Out in the 'Burbs tonight so can't make it in.
jimmylibel Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Yeah, that's a good idea. This time I won't have to split up with a girlfriend during the first half too! Out in the 'Burbs tonight so can't make it in. And there was me thinking it was the result that got to you
Benzo-13 Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 And there was me thinking it was the result that got to you True, that was the worst part... The result that is...
Hector McDougal Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 (edited) I found out recently that the Czech Inn shows most satellite football. It used to be called isoldes tower and is just off parliament st in temple bar. it's nothing amazing but is far better than Fraziers on O'Connell st and seems capable of getting any matches that they can. They f***ed with Isolde's Towers! The c****! Me and Jimmy are meeting up in Frazer's, if you want to bail in. As regards venues in town to keep in mind, the Abbey Hotel on Middle Abbey Street (opp. the side entrance to Eason's there) is good as well if you desperately need to avoid Frazer's (or Isolde's). Nice to have a choice.
Hector McDougal Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Cheers for that. Might try Abby hotel some time. Can't stand Frazers. You'll be pleased to know that all that's changed in Czech Inn is the name and there is czech beer and food there now. Other than that it's pretty much the same. Haven't been there at night in years. Used to know that it was a bad night if we ended up there. It was a real case if being the last resort for a late drink without paying in when we were in college.
Fagan Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 frziers will have the big screen though wont it? as much as i dislike fraziers i think i'll pop along
Guest Jude Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Why not nip up the road and watch it in the Devenish Arms here in Belfast
stonty Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 The match is free & clear on "TPS Foot" Hot bird satellite, 13 degrees east. French commentary but who cares?
Fagan Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 went to fraziers and it was wedged, right around the corner there is some pub called the living room, that had a gigantic screen, about 3 tims the size of the one in fraziers and there was a handful of pool fans in there and plenty of seats. bloody great
Herbie von Smalls Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Why not nip up the road and watch it in the Devenish Arms here in Belfast with proper tayto cheese and onion crisps on sale.
Scaryscouse Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 You're nearly always bound to catch any Liverpool game in Roddy Bolands in Rathmines. Missed one game last year and it was the last one of the season. Always tons of Liverpool fans aswell.
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Ok, are we organising a meet up then?
Euphrates Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Ok, are we organising a meet up then?We really should, I've started noticing my mates in town who I'd normally watch with have stopped making an effort to watch the game. One went to play pool last night, the other two listened to newstalk instead of coming out, which I suppose is alright since they live in Palmerston and Ongar.
jimmylibel Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Yeah sounds like a plan although I do worry for your safety Euphrates.
Hector McDougal Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Newstalk is a handy resource for live coverage and the reception is much better than fiddling with bbc five live. I think that Ken Early might be a red. Ger Gilroy is a Villa fan.
