Skillz Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 If you hadnt noticed, and you should have because i felt it all the way over here in Australia the media had a field day with the "handshake". This was a ridiculous situation but it has to be said was caused by Jose himself by not shaking hands with the winner of the past 2 encounters (not counting yesterday). IMO a discussion took place between the two to end the farce which resulted in Jose waiting for Rafa at the end of the race looking very uncomfortable. Even after the "shake" he looked uncomfortable . My point is Rafa played this well in the media to the point Jose realised he couldnt win and it was better to end it. This is new territory for Jose if my memory serves me right. I even read quotes now that he considers Rafa one of the world's best, once again i have not read or heard any compliments about Rafa in the past, whereas Rafa has often said Jose is a great manager. I also read that Jose has mentioned it was a good win against a title contender, something he previously had not acknowledged. Why the sudden respect Jose! IMO Rafa has played this so well he has forced Jose to concede defeat and pay us some respect at last . Having said all that the true test will be Jose' reaction to a loss I know this is a tedious topic but watching on TV i was giggling at Jose' reaction to have to wait for Rafa (for some time), constantly turning around looking for him, wondering where he was
