Thoughts? Personally, if this is our bad run I am glad we got it over with early....

We may be. Not because we dropped points, but it looks like scoring is going to be an issue again this season. I know it's only four games, but it's just so eerily similar.

Too early obviously. Having said that, we may only be able to afford to lose one or two more games this season and that will be difficult to say the least.

Might look a little bit better if United don't win today though.

I think if there is still the same gap or more by the end of October we will be out of it. If the Mancs keep the same consistency and Chelsea continue to do well, along with these other teams that have suddenly become a force then I fear that 3 points from other teams won't be as guaranteed as they were last year.

We aren't getting many chances in front of goal, and the ones we do get we don't take. We need to get over that asap, if we don't get 6 points from the next two games I dread to think what out league position would be at the end of September. How can after 45 minutes of football we only got two chances? I can't understand how that is!

We cant possibly be out the title race, game in hand over chelski, win that and we still only 5 points behind them.. Need scum to lose today...

Hopefully thats our bad run out the way...

I think we're out of it.

Chelsea are too tought a team to make up ground on, and it looked like United will be much better last season.

Most worrying thing is, despite all our confidence, we don't look good enough.

Such a rubbish start to the season.

I'll start to get more concerned if we don't win home games against chelsea or utd, win wednesday and next week , thats 2 homes to redress the balance of away games and the game in hand. Then have the sort of run we put together last year. Stop falling for all this super/grand/end of the world sunday sky crap. judge it at the start of december then get angry, but now is not yet the time

Put's the 'point gained' results against the likes of Sheffield into perspective.

We can't scrape draws against the smaller teams and also lose against the bigger sides. Our record against Arsenal, Utd and Chelsea in the League isn't great so we have to make sure we squeeze every last point out of the games against lower sides.

People were defending draws against the likes of 'Boro as good points last year and that slow start cost us a serious chance at the league.

Same thing has happened.

I think we might be to be honest. Yes we've got an "easier" run in at the back end of the season, but thats only relevant if we were taking points off our rivals, and we've failed to do that again today.

Yes, we are well out of it.

f***in awful start to the season.

I am concerned by our form.

We were poor pre-season and that's continued into the season proper. There has been only one good performance so far, the charity shield.

We need tog et back to basics and pick a more settled team for a while.

Mind you, if we win our next three games (which is possible) then we'd be three points better off than last season, after seven games into the season. We finished on 82 points then and the points you'll need to win it should be less this year.

I'm not too hopeful though.

had we got a draw, this topic wouldnt be here. we have played Everton and Chelsea away, in our first 4 games. the table is a bit skewed at the minute, because of who we played. we arent out of it, not be a long way.

Pre-season - there's a throw-back. I remember getting criticised for saying that our performances will reflect in the season.

Everton we should win.

Anything but a win on Wednesday night does not bear thinking about.

But it's not just the fact that we've played them now. We have been very poor in both games against Everton and Chelski and we where very poor against Sheffield United as well. We are not out of it Yet I agree but 2 more performances like that in the next month or so and we Will Be Out of It!!!

It's not the points we've lost that worries me, it's the fact we haven't played well enough to claim points. We need a massive improvement to have a chance.

In or out of the race is ultimately irrelevant.

Us winning the league is now out of our hands.

Agree with that - I said at the time the Sheff Utd result was a poor one.

why should we win At Everton? they are a decent side, not many teams will win there this season. Everton will be pushing the top 4 this season. the performance there was poor, but saying we should win there is arrogant in the extreme. the liklihood is, Chelsea will beat the Mancs at Stamford Bridge, Everton may beat them too. the games United have playe so far you'd expect them to win. the one game aganst a decent side, Spurs, they were outplayed and the better team lost. Celtic showd that their midfield is piss poor.

If before the game someone had said we'd lose i'd have thought we'd still be in it. But watching just how utterly f***ing awful we just played, how bad our passing was, how bad our crossing was, how bad our shooting was, i've changed my mind

We were f***ing shyte today

Of course we are not out of it, please stop buyng into the SKY hype s****.

Sky are saying we are out of it based on Chelsea's form last season.

Since when has football been predictable or followed suit from one season to the next, it is highly unlikely that Chelsea will run away with the title like last year (they have already dropped points) and MANU are on a good run of form at the minute but i don't see them keeping that form all season like Chelsea did last year.

We of course need to start improving (and finishing our chances off) our results quickly but even 4 points from our next two games wouldn't put us out of it.

In short we need to start gelling as a team.
