New York Red Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I hate to admit this, but I think he is a really good signing for them. I thought they paid way too much for him, but I was totally wrong. He seems to excel with a better team around him. As a matter of fact, he could be good for about 30 goals in a season if he was with us. There's no getting around it. He's a class player.
Falconhoof Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 We'll score more goals than Everton and we'll finish above them, Johnson is doing well now but its a long season and he'll be expected to play every week. and Paul Scharner equalises for Wigan. get in! Damn my mockering! Beattie puts Everton 2-1 up. (pen)
LondonLiverpoolFan Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Scharner has equalised for the 2nd time. 2-2

He's powerful, very fast, and just seems to be totally motivated to play hard. I know it's a long season, but he seems to be fit as f*ck and he never gets injured.

I saw him out jump Delany and Mellberg all afternoon at villa a couple of seasons ago and he did Hyppia to get the winner at their ground the same season.
Guest Scot Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Johnson will score 20+ league goals and, if he does, Everton will finish top 6.
Guz Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Thanks MOTD for not bothering to show the Cahill incident Who did he have in a headlock this week?
LFCNeil90 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Is it just me who thinks he's just in great luck in the early stages of the season?his first as an awful effort which deflected in...last week 1 was a defensive c**k up with a near on tap in while the other was just yesterday he was just in the right place at the right time for an open goal, while also missing some other less simple chances

A striker needs to be at the right place at the right time, and a striker needs to create some luck, so to say. He's done very well - and I ain't happy about it either! Credit where credit's due though...
Bootle Buck Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I have said for years we needed a poacher and player who can put the ball away from 6 yards out. Our strikers spend too much time outside the box. Johnson is a typical poacher and not afraid to get in amongst it in the box.
