CaptainXabi Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Just watched it. How sad is that one? Most of the time I just watch and laugh or smile remember the good times, and so do Bascombe, Bishop, etc. But this one was just somber all around. Everyone's body language saying "it was great, if only it had lasted". Evern Riise and Hyypia still seem down about it. Just a non-optimal situation for everyone, wasn't it?
Gomez Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 But Newcastle it the greatest club in the world and Owen remembers his Dad telling him stories about Di Stefano playing for them when they won all those European Cups, and to be able to wear the same shirt for them now is such a dream come true.... ... or something.
Guest soueyg Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Very sad. All his own doing though, he must be so gutted. We couldn't even get him back at a reasonable price now either thanks to Newcastle.
Guest Cameron Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Damn, he was brilliant at his best. He became too much of a goal hanger in his final two seasons at Liverpool which I didn't like. He could never score the sort of goals he did early in his career now, he's transformed as a player and not into a better one. I think he would have flourished under Rafa...oh well, Owen's loss really.
Guest Scot Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Really not bothered. Never cared less about an ex-player. I was more interested in Ablett.
Cobs Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Really not bothered. Never cared less about an ex-player. I was more interested in Ablett.and you were so fond of him while he was here....
