liverbird04 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Is it just me or does it seem open season on him ,if we had lost to PSV the media would have savaged him ,in the daily mirror today they had a headline 'stinkerman rafa' what the **** is that all about ? Liverpool are the only english club who have had two away games in the premiership with an away game in europe sandwiched in between. Rafa has rotated ever since he has been here and all of a sudden we get beat in a derby and he's the tinkerman . Its just pissing me off thats all. hopefully we'll beat chelsea anyway.
techmob Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 not to mention all the early kick offs we have had! inlcuding this bloody game on sunday!
Falconhoof Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Just be satisfied with the knowledge that Rafa always proves the doubters wrong.
Bootle Buck Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 The same Rafa that was a genius after we beat the almighty Chelsea a few weeks ago. I am positive the football media are people who were fired from the National Enquirer or similar red tops for not having enough imagination.
Case Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 You won't find ME criticising him... ...ahem....
redjersey Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 not to mention all the early kick offs we have had! inlcuding this bloody game on sunday! To be honest I can't see why that should affect the way we play. Pain in the arris for the supporters of course.
fyds Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Despite Brian Reade, Fecund Haddock et al - the Mirror is always on our case and talking shoite. Ignore it - it's for the best.
Kopfaithful Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 it's a fact of life as soon as results dip off, the knives will be out. results are everything, no matter how short term. i don't think it's any different for any of the managers from last years top 3. the only top manager who seems to be immune, no matter what the results, is wenger.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 You won't find ME criticising him... ...ahem....
Andy @ Allerton Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 The media are scum Who cares what these know nothing arsebandits say?
Poolfrog Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Is it just me or does it seem open season on him ,if we had lost to PSV the media would have savaged him ,in the daily mirror today they had a headline 'stinkerman rafa' what the **** is that all about ? I know what you mean. My daughter - for reasons that I can't fathom - gets the Mirror. I read yesterday's edition and, although I'd seen us put out a weakened team and coast through the game without any trouble at all - and maybe should have won - their report was extremely negative and if I hadn't seen it I would have thoght we'd been outplayed and were very lucky to come away with a draw. But it's not universally known as the Daily Manc for nothing I suppose.
techmob Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 To be honest I can't see why that should affect the way we play. Pain in the arris for the supporters of course. the stats will tell you different! it seems teams are slow to get going on the earlier kick off! and it's said that player prefer the afternoon , more time to prepair on that given day!
redjersey Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 the stats will tell you different! it seems teams are slow to get going on the earlier kick off! and it's said that player prefer the afternoon , more time to prepair on that given day!Right. But surely that would affect both teams equally and therefore wouldn't be a significant factor?
G Richards Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I'm always sceptical when the media fawns over us, and when it's the other way and the knives are out we can certainly take it all with a pinch of salt. This is OUR Liverpool, and we know better than cheap journalists.
Keita Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 wouldnt piss on the Daily Mirror, pile of w***.
liverbird04 Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Read something today in the echo that the headlines that went out in the nationals were originally designed for a liverpool loss , we drew but they still used them anyway (must have been gutted) ,which kinda makes sense and shows them up for being a bunch of pricks as usual.
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 not to mention all the early kick offs we have had! inlcuding this bloody game on sunday! And even earlier the following saturday.
techmob Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Right. But surely that would affect both teams equally and therefore wouldn't be a significant factor? of course its the same for both teams! but look at how many early games we have got, and we have never been quick to get going in these early games!
techmob Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Sorry mate, I'm not buying in to this at all. If Rafa and all his coaching and technical staff, with all their expertise, can't ensure that our players are in the right condition for whatever time we kick off, there's something wrong. As I said, it's the supporters who suffer with kicking off a couple of hours early, I really can't accept that it's a significant disadvantage to the team. look at all the early kick off games we have had, and then try and figure out why we have poor results, if you can then you should be the manager! for whatever reason, i don't know why but we have had allot of por results from early games! coincidence , i don't know!
