2 tap ins and a bullet header

But then again, there are players like Morientes and Nistelroy, who don't seem to have anything special and it seems they're scoring tap ins and headers only. It's surprising, that they have such brilliant record.

And Morientes scored 1 goal in Spanish League too. It makes 4 goals in 2(!!!) games. Now that's impressive.

I thinks the reason is Liverpool plays a very defensive boring game(sorry for that) and there are not many decent chances for strikers. Even best goal scorers would struggle here.

I know that Valencia was a defensive team, but they were superb in counter attacks, they had Vicente, who was best left winger, IMHO and they had Aimar, who was brilliant. Without good creative players, it's very hard for strikers...

I don't want to criticise Rafa, but I think It's better to have one superb player than to average-better than average players. Only Alonso and Gerrard are extra class players in my book. Sissoko? May be soon, but not now.

All of attacking players of Liverpool are weaker than many good teams... :(

a bullet header

Now that's f*cking headwrecking. Different styles of play, different types of build-up, maybe even less chances when he was in the Premiership. But I didn't see him connect properly with one header the whole time he was at Liverpool.

There was one in his first season where he connected with a sweet cross from garcia and produced a marvelous header into the opposite top corner.

Obviously not a sign of what was to come.

Personally, I think it is just easier to score goals in Spain. You don't get bullied as much and there is more space. If you can score in the prem, you are gonna score loads in spain. Hasselbaink is a case in point, being topscorer with ease for atletico despite being relegated. Nistelroy is gonna score loads there. If Baros gets his move down there he is gonna find it easy as well with his physique. I dread to thinki how many Henry would have scored if he had moved this summer.

He hardly ripped up the CL with us, though, like he did at Monaco and now Valencia.

Mystery. Don't get me wrong; I liked him, I'm just perplexed.

But there were moments for us when he was missing easy chances. Maybe that was as a result of gradually losing confidence, but he looked a complete shadow of the player he was in Spain or France.

At home to Fulham. I was 3 rows back right behind the Anny Road goal. That header was a thing of beauty.

I was in the Anny Road end too... what a beautiful goal. I have it on my computer and I watch it sometimes to remind me of how well he placed the header. Van Der Sar didn´t stand a chance in the goal.

No amount of goals from Morientes will make the transfer out to be a wrong move for both parties. He was slow, lethargic and weak in the english league after 18 months. He had to move on and just didn't "fit in" for whatever reason.

As much :nono: as the purplish hue your face took on when we scored early against Betis and you expressed your deepest feelings about the Beticos. ( I have pics that I didn't post)

One tough cookie you are.

Fernando's missus had a daughter yesterday so congratulations are in order.

So he was scoring when he was at Liverpool - just not on the pitch

Don't think anyone could knock him for his effort at Anfield, his workrate was superb, it jsut didn't work out for him, this happens with players, they can do it certain countries but not in others
