It's far too early to say but Reading do look the best bet out of the trio that got promoted.

Hard to tell who's gonna get relegated though, who are the 3 teams worse in the league than the 3 that got promoted? Not saying they will all deffo be relegated but it's hard to say how they'll do at the moment.

Last year it was clear from quite early on that Sunderland and West Brom would probably make up 2 of the 3 slots, which gave West Ham and Wigan a great chance of staying up. Birmingham got caught up quite early as did Pompey and Villa nearly did at the end. But Pompey and Villa will have far better seasons this year. I think Pompey, Villa, Bolton, West Ham, Man City, Wigan, Boro, Newcastle , Charlton and Blackburn will all be somewhere between 6th and 15th - mid table, some good patches, very hard to predict but 'too good' for relegation. All of these teams are also as strong or stronger than last season too.

Which only leaves the promoted 3 and Fulham.

Decent side going forward, but perhaps the weakest defensively of the three promoted sides. They'll get a few hidings along the way, but I still think they're the likeliest of the three to stay up. Largely because they've got enough about them going forwards to get 30 odd points at home, which is most of the work done.

The squad is tiny though. They got away with it in last season's promotion campaign due to luck with injuries. They'll need the same this season because even with a couple out they'll be forced to field reserve players that most of their fans thought weren't up to Championship level, never mind Premiership

I said in this year's league predictions that Reading would be this year's Wigan. That they'd start off well and be upper mid-table around Christmas, but because of a lack of depth in the squad they'd end up lower mid-table.

Thing is about Reading, they have the priceless attributes of being disciplined and playing as a team. Watching them last season they all know each others' ganes well, and each player has a well-defined role to play in the side.

Coppell hasn't changed much which has been to their benefit so far - they have a winning mentality from last season which has kick-started them. The real test will be how they react if they lose the succession of tough games they have coming up against Chelsea, United etc.

They'll definitely be tough to beat at home, and I feel sure they'll stay up.
