Dominus Maximus Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Im not normally the guy who blames stuff on the ref, but this time. 2 Peno's, one handball and one on Hyppiä Both Evertons first goals were clear free-kicks for us. Had the descisions gone our way as they should, we'd be 1-0 up at half time. Stop messing on our players, stop blaiming Rafa. we were robbed, simple as that.. . Thanks to Grame c***
Guest Cardie Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 We can't rely on referee's to win games for us so saying 'we would have won if' isn't really any comfort. We lost because we weren't good enough.
Dominus Maximus Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 No we lost cus we were robbed. 99 out of a 100 we would have two penos and they wouldn't have scored the two first cus there were freekicks for us. How can you beat that?
smicer07 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Thought Poll did OK to be honest, seen far worse. Players and boss take the blame this time.
Maldini Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Yeah, he was a joke, far too whistle happy too, he wouldn't let the game flow. He did give us a couple of dodgy free-kicks too, nothing on the scale of Everton's non-decisions though.

We lost because we weren't good enough. Have to agree - yes we should have had 2 penalties but that would have only made the game 3-2! As Cardie has said we shouldn't need to rely on Ref's to win us points and how many saves did Howard actually make in a game we where so unlucky in? Have to say apart from the big pen decisions I thought Poll gave us a lot of 50-50 decisions in the 2nd half! Edited September 9, 2006 by Shanklyanfield
Guest Cardie Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 How can you beat that? By not making stupid mistakes and scoring in open play? Basically what you're saying is ifithadn'tbeenfor.....
madaboutlfc Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 the was a c***... i hope that cahill c*** breaks his leg the f***en sonofabitch
Maldini Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Have to agree - yes we should have had 2 penalties but that would have only made the game 3-2! Yeah, cos that's the way it works

We lost because we weren't good enough. no, we can rely upon having the same decisions given to both teams. in the contect of the game, at any other time he would have awarded freekicks for both of there first two goals.
realtarragona Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Didn't think there was much wrong with Everton's first goal. Osman just put his body in the way, most refs would have allowed it I think. Can't remember what the foul was for the second. Trying to blank the game out already.
Dominus Maximus Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 Then explain why Cowt comitted a foul on Yobo in an excact same episode as the Finnan one, and the second was a blues**** who wrestled Alonso in the air, had his arms around his neck and kept him on the floor...

Clay Davis Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 all these excuses are b******s. we lost, we werent good enough, didnt create good enough chances. near misses from long range were all we had really. should have had a pen, true, but thats really the only mistake poll made imo.
Dominus Maximus Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 Come on... As said, both if not the first then clearly the second was a foul. (although I believe the first was aswell)
Jim D Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Lets just say it was Everton's day, all of the big (crucial) decisions went in their favour. Ontop of that we hit the woodwork twice and the three goals we conceded were gifts due to awful defending.

I'm not agreeing completely with the initial comment, but Poll missed two clear penalties - the handball was obvious - and Cahill had Xabi in a bloody headlock and was blatantly holding him down but let it go. True, we made stupid errors but it wasn't our day and the ref played some part in that.
Guz Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Just listening to rafa on bbc.. -Should have had a pen, or two-Bellamy not injured, rafa just decided not to use him (odd)-We were too nice and too soft at the start-Needed a stronger mentality to win the game-Conceeding goals we usually don't-Created chances + penalty chance but not as good as we needed to be-Riise aggrevated past ankle injury which means he'll face more time out for it to recover "Cannot analyse referee decisions until we analyse how we conceed these goals"
lawrie Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I dont think the referee had any bearing on the game today. Poor team selection and important players 'going missing' lost us that match. Trying to blame the ref just makes us look silly. We didnt deserve anything out of the game. Sorry, the first line of that statement is b******s, although I can agree with the rest of it
Ian Garro Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Sorry, the first line of that statement is b******s, although I can agree with the rest of itFair enough. If anyone thinks that if Liverpool had played exactly the same way, with a different ref in charge, the result would have been any different, they have got their head up their a***. The only one I thought was a pen was the Hibbert handball thingy. The other moans are just pathetic. We were shocking today, and we got exactly what we deserved.
Guest Sabre Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 It's pathetic to expect the ref to see Hyypia's shirt being tugged from his back?
