Andy-oh-six Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Bellamy played the full game for Wales on Tuesday. As he has had a day's extra rest and little travel he'll probably start though.
Mikey Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I think we'll see players rested against PSV if at all, try to do well against Everton and Chelsea.
psl Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I'd be really surprised if Kromkamp was on the bench.
RP Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I'd be really surprised if Kromkamp was on the bench.
Benitez Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I don't think Robbie is that fwt anymore to be fair.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I have only 1 problem with that team - Zenden in the center or in the team for that matter. I am still not convinced by him. Apart from that you could be right, but I would like to see Crouch given a run out given the boost in confidence that he must have.
Serko Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Why don't we just keep kuyt in Eindhoven till the psv match,as that's where Holland played yesterday.
honourablegeorge Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I'd be amazed if we started without Gerrard.
Guest belli Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I would play Carragher for Agger, Riise for Aurelio, Gerrard for Zenden and Crouch for Fowler if all are fit of course
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I reckon Gerrard and Kuyt will start ......and your avatar scares the fc*k out of me

We are playing Merseyside's Bully Boys. Fight fire with fire. Dont disagree with Bellamy. His pace is what the Bluenoses dont possess at the back. But, for me, Kuyt or Crouch. On form - Crouch. But the Bitters will be expecting that. So; Kuyt. Mix it up a little. Midfield; five man. Garcia, Momo The Warrior, Xabi (though a little concerned about our Xabi at the mo), Gonzales and Stevie G.

RafaShanks Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I'd be very surprised if Rafa rests any players considering what happened in his first derby. Dependant on injuries, I think he'll pick our strongest side possible with any of our strikers up front. He may go with Bellamy and Kuyt as the front combination.
Knox_Harrington Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 i'll be well surprised if fowler starts. kuyt and bellamy.I wouldn't be. However I'd prefer to see Kuyt or Crouch with Bellamy.
honourablegeorge Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I wouldn't be. However I'd prefer to see Kuyt or Crouch with Bellamy. How doe people thing Bellamy will handle the atmosphere? He's a beligerent little git at the best of times (don't get me wrong, he's our beligerent little git now, and I love him), but in the derby atmosphere..... I could see him collecting a booking here and there.....
Guest Parr_Zee Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I wouldn't be. However I'd prefer to see Kuyt or Crouch with Bellamy. I'm a bit undecided whether Crouch or Kuyt will play but I think we'll see: ----------------------Reina-----------------------Finnan-----Hyypia----Agger-----Aurelio------Pennant---Gerrard---Sissoko--Zenden-----------------------Garcia-------------------------------------Crouch / Kuyt-------------------
Kopfaithful Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 (edited) I think now we're past the qualifiers in the CL, rafa will be picking his strongest teams in the league and if players need resting it will be in the CL. He might change this if we get out of the groups, but for now i reckon that'll be his plan. He won't want to lose this on Saturdayor drop any points the Sunday after. Edited September 7, 2006 by js
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Reina Finnan Hyypia Agger Warnock Gerrard Sissoko Alonso Gonzalez Kuyt Crouch I reckon that Sissoko and Alonso will sit and Gerrard and Kuyt buzzing about on the right and supporting Crouch

Ronnie Whelan Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I like the idea of Kuyt and Fowler up front. The movement displayed by Kuyt against the hammers is exactly the type of partner God wants, i think they would be awesome together, especially against the blues****. The difficult thing is leaving out crouchy. He has been on form recently and is difficult to drop, but IMO Rafa must play Robbie and if he does i can see him scoring.
Flasher Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I am in no doubt whatsoever that the team selection by Rafa for all three games (and the rest of the season to be honest) will completely fox me. Don't think I've ever picked the same team as Rafa to be honest. I'm sure it's not just me either. Nobody throws more curve balls than our Rafa. Community Shield for example. Out of nowhere that starting 11. Genius.

Out of nowhere that starting 11. Genius. Agree completely. He picks the team for each game and in that mode I believe he will start with Robbie this weekend. Everyone, including "The Moyesiah" will expect Crouchy to start given his recent run of form and thats exactly why I think Rafa won't start him. Of course, I could be completely wrong.
