Gunga Din Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 (edited) to link our present team to the team that played in our very first league game. for example, Robbie Fowler played in the same league team as Ian RushIan Rush played in the same league team as Phil NealPhil Neal played in the same league team as Ian Callaghan. now that takes us back to 1959/1960 now, did Ian Callaghan play in the same team as Billy Liddell? cos that would take us back even further, and only using 5 players to link us back to pre war Edited August 30, 2006 by big wayne
Tosh Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Robbie Fowler played in the same team as Ian Rush before the Prem, there was no football. Fool
Cobs Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Murph is the only fan who can link us back to the first ever LFC game
LFCJari37 Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 (edited) According to LFC History Ian Callaghan made his 1st team Debut 16 April 1960, Billy Liddell's last game for LFC was a 1-0 loss to Southampton at Anfield on 31 August 1960 so theres every chance they were in the same team. Callaghan made his debut in place of Liddell - though of course they may have played together after that. Cally certainly played with Ronnie Moran I'd think, so that would take us back to 1952.
Behind Enemy Lines Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 one for the statto's, how many players would it take....I was sure he was going to ask 'to change a light bulb?'
downunder Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 one for the statto's, how many players would it take....I was sure he was going to ask 'to change a light bulb?' Elisha Scott ex keeper and of YNWA fame plays with Steven Gerrard....does that help take it back at all?
