Maldini Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Anyone watch that last week? just caught the repeat tonight, what a stitch-up! Felt really sorry for Bleasdale, it was obviously edited and produced to make Big Ron look good ("Big Ron's introduction of a keeper coach pays off immediately" etc.) The guy was doing a good job (4 wins from his first 5 games) and Barry Fry being the media whore that he is decides to get Ron involved. Ron immediately starts to undermine the manager suggesting stuff to the players and the manager is justifiably pissed off, but of course Fry wants to look good for the cameras and in front of him old mate Ron. It was a lose-lose situation for Bleasdale, if they collapse it's his fault and if they do well it'll be because of Ron.
Redwire Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Didn't they spend a few weeks at Swindon first before the manager there told them to f*** off? Bleasdale must have been in a pretty weak position with Fry to have that foisted on him.
fyds Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 You're right, they did. Fry will have made sure he did allright out of it.
Maldini Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 Rumour has it "The Posh" got £100k for agreeing to it This article shows how much of a sham the situation was, be warned it contains spoilers about how the situation unfolds. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/tm_...-name_page.html
Scaryscouse Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 (edited) The really scary thing about that show is that it has catapulted Sean St Ledger into the Ireland team. I know he has since moved on by the way but his performances have been equally terrible. Edited August 29, 2006 by Scaryscouse
Buzz Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I hope Keith Alexander has a better time there. He used to play for Stamford Town, always had time for the supporters and was a thoroughly nice bloke from what I hear, though I still think it's a bit weird that he left Lincoln like that, especially after all the work he had done and the support he got during his illness.
Guest Paris 81 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Can't be that hopeless, he had them on their best winning streak of the season and into the play off positions before fat racist Ron and Fry added more pressure on him by bringing the tv cameras in.
stressederic Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 What would possess Peterborough and Barry Fry to effectively sabotage their own team by coming in and heaping the pressure on like this is beyond me. They were going to be promoted for f***s sake
Maldini Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 More of the same tonight, inferring that Ron is their only hope and the manager is trying to stop him working his "magic touch" who are they trying to kid? Ron's sticking his oar in where it's not needed or wanted and causing hassle where there doesn't need to be any. As for Danny Crow storming off, the only one made to look foolish in that incident was him. He was at Norwich and did alright in the few chances he had in the Premiership, I was wondering why they released him until I saw this, talented lad, complete g******* though.
Buzz Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 I was in Natwest Bank the other week queueing up for ages, two lads behind me were talking about the new footie season. Talking all about premiership clubs then about Peterborough. They said how Peterborough had got rid of the good players and kept the crap ones brought in by Mark Wright, they have even bought a couple of players from the Tescos team at Hamilton, a new huge 24hr Tescos here at P'boro. The slagged the club off summat rotten. Then one lad said something about one of the girls behind the counter which made me laugh, and I turned to them and my jaw hit the floor. There was big Barry stood right behind them. They turned and saw him and started laughing loades too. Was quite amusing, but, generally, I think most of the 'boro fans would rather he left the managers and coaches to get on with it, or, left the club entirely. Everytime they get going, they bugger it up, and allegedly always because of Barry.
Buzz Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 That's outragousWhat were you doing in a bank?Counting the time it took for the Securicor man to walk from the counter to the van, why?.
Snookie Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 These "reality" TV programmes are the 21st century version of cockfighting or bear-baiting. But without the dignity.
Kahnee Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Counting the time it took for the Securicor man to walk from the counter to the van, why?. Just checking the plan was on schedule...
