Was the Intertoto Cup particularly easy or something this year? Don't recall Newcastle coming up against anyone good and they seemed to only have 3 rounds of matches or something.

they changed the format..

 

They just had to go through one round against someone or other, and well - that was that I think about 13 teams or summet got into the UEFA cup first round that way this year, rather than 3 in past years. Farcical. Gone are the days you actually have to at least win something or gain a very good league position to get into Europe.

That's ridiculous.

 

Can you imagine how pissed off the forum would be if we actually still wanted Owen and were dependent on them not getting European football?
