Benitez Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Just reading on AS.com that Joaquin is close to signing with Valencia apparently. 25 mil Yeros. Valencia are doing some buying and selling this summer! May be good for a decent challenge again this season.
CarraLegend Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Could put out a good all Spanish team if they wanted to Canizares Torres, Albiol, Marchena, Del Horno Joaquin, Baraja, Albelda, Vicente Morientes, Villa

jimmylibel Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Del Horno and Tavano Ah, consider myself suitably kicked. Who's Tavano though? Sorry, am all questions today - feel free to tell me to look it up on google cos I'm a lazy sod.

Francesco Tavano - played for Empoli, and scored lots of goals in Serie A with 'em last couple seasons, despite being one of the 'smaller clubs' as it where.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 if they can find their form, Valencia will have the two best wingers in the world in their side. Pretty impressive. Mori should be scoring loads.

Leo No.8 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 (edited) if they can find their form, Valencia will have the two best wingers in the world in their side. Pretty impressive. Mori should be scoring loads. Joaquin just isn't one of the best two wingers in the world, you just can't justify that statement with evidence of his performances at either club or international level. And you can't say 'if he finds his form' because he's been 'finding his form' for years now. He's talented alright, but I'd take the diving berk from down the East Lancs any day of the week over him for a start. PS 25million Euros is an outrageous sum for such an inconsistent performer, talented or not. I would have had him at Liverpool for £8-10m tops for the 10 games a season in which he's brilliant. For that much I'd be expecting 40 games a year at the top level... Edited August 24, 2006 by Leo No.8
Guest Anders Honoré Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 On his day, he IS the best rightwinger in the world. Reckon he will up his consistency a lot now that he has moved to a more ambitious club.

He is brilliant on his day but his days are so rare; as I said I'd take Ronaldo ahead of him and believe me it hurts to say that! We shall revisit this subject at Christmas to see how he's got on, the proof of the pudding is in the eating my dear honore...

monkey puzzle Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 if they can find their form, Valencia will have the two best wingers in the world in their side. Pretty impressive. Mori should be scoring loads. Internet myth #235424
Bootle Buck Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Where are Valencia suddenly getting all their money from?
Guest Anders Honoré Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Internet myth #235424 Nah. Vicente was definitely the best leftwinger in the world before his injuries struck. Joaquin definitely the best on the right when he can be bothered.
Benitez Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 mmmmm, seems this transfer to VCF still hasn't gone through. Story on AS.com that Olympique Lyonnais are sniffing around now.
muleskinner Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Gonzalez looks as good a prospect as Joaquin. I haven't seen that much of Joaquin but when I do he flatters to deceive. One to file with Kim Kallstrom and Rafael van der Vaart.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Gonzalez looks as good a prospect as Joaquin. he really doesn't. Joaquin looked outrageous when he first made his mark.
Knox_Harrington Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 He has looked outrageously overrated whenever I've seen him.I've seen him play over twenty times I reckon and only once has he had a very good game.
