Spurs were also hurting them out wide. Something we didn't do because we suddenly changed the pre-season habit of using wide men and played narrow. I know the game was in a ginnel on Saturday, but our lack of width was ridiculous. Pennant could have easily done what Lennon did.

er, we played narrow because sheffield united over the summer narrowed their already-narrow pitch by a further two metres. this has the natural effect of minimizing space on the wings for er, wingers to exploit. hence opposing teams are forced to play a lot more narrow.
