Arsenal bid for Gallas

Gallas to Arsenal and Cole to Chelsea would be good for both team.

Arsenal are supposed to have only bid £5 million for him. Reckon that was only in response to Mourinho moaning they hadn't received any bids for Gallas yet last week.

 

My guess is that it will send up being Gallas and £5 - £8 million for Cole. Which will be an absolute steal for Arsenal.

If wenger is after 25mil for Cole, and gallas wants out of russia, I would think 14mil plus gallas will go to wenger, which is a pretty sweet deal I tihnk

With Gallas keen to get back to being a CB, and us having Hyypia, Carra, Agger, Paletta and waiting in the wings Antwe and Hobbs - I don't think so anymore.

Not sure this is great beans for Arsenal, although gaining a better all round player, Gallas and Toure are too similar to make a convincing pair, neither are dominant in the air, both are better sweeping and covering next to a big guy. Given the choice of three from Sendaros, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Hoyte, I think Wenger would try to get Gallas to play left back.

Toure has always looked fairly dominent in the air to me.

 

Personally I reckon him and Gallas would be an absolutely brilliant partnership.

Gallas and Toure are pretty similar actually, both fantastic defenders. Toure is one of my favourite non-Liverpool players.

Gallas and Toure are indeed very similar, but I don't see that hindering them at all.

 

To be honest, I think they are similar in terms of neither player has any obvious weaknesses, which shouldn't prove to hold them back!

Swapping Gallas for Cole +15m or so would be fantastic business. I'd sooner have Gallas in my squad anyway,I reckon he's a better player.

I can't believe us and the Mancs are not battling for Gallas's signature also. He is clearly one of the best CB's in Europe and can chip in with some goals too.

I thought he wanted to go abroad to be honest, but if he's considering a move to Arsenal, then maybe.

 

We don't really need to strenghten in that area, but he'd improve any team...

Always thought he'd go to barca, but with them signing thuram, I guess they are out of the picture now.

 

With carra, sami and agger already in the squad, it would be pointless for us to shell out a big fee for a player like gallas.

Yeah same here, thought he was bound for Serie A this summer. If he goes for 7/8 million really think we should be in the hunt at least.

 

That said, knowing Rafa, we might just be already.

Gallas might just end up at Arsenal since Chelsea seem desperate for Cole but I don't see that happening until the last possible moment. I am 99% certain that Mourinho won't allow any players to leave for domestic teams he considers to be rivals unless there is no alternative.

Wayne Bridge looks like he has regained the form that got him the big transfer. They may not bother with Cole after all. They just signed Boularouz who can also play LB.

I would expect AC Milan to come back with an offer for Gallas now that they are in the Champions League.

Gallas is an awesome defender, Chelsea's best and much better than Terry IMO. I'd rather he go abroad than strengthen a rival team but anywhere but Chelsea (or ManUre) would be a good move as far as we are concerned.
