These were the dark days before football came on the telly all weekend apart from a highlights programme on BBC on Saturday night and the odd match on ITV on a Sunday afternoon.

I have heard tales of a mythical programme called The Big Match where they showed one league game a week, for free. Can't be true though 42 games a season, how one earth can anyone survive on that paltry figure.

 

Hang on 42 games !!!!!!! Someone's been winding me up, we only play 38 in the league. I'm so gullible sometimes
