Morse Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 (edited) ...can be voted on in the link...(see below). Robbie for me.He took his penalty well and got us the point. Not much else to report though. Momo was disappointing today when compared to Sunday. Edited August 19, 2006 by morsest1
muleskinner Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Agger looked our best for me. Always looked to bring the ball out of defence intelligently. We may be need a big game from him v Haifa.

Guz Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Robbie was slow and off the pace but took his peno well. Agger for me for the way he slotted in but he needs to be more careful in posession further up the pitch. Everyone else was a bit crap although Gonzalez and Aurelio worked hard.
Gomez Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I'd go for Gerrard. Even though he was a shadow of his normal self. He still made the goal even if he did give the ball away too much. Robbie took the goal well, but did little else. If it hadn't been for the goal we conceded it would have been Aurelio.
Guest yuh Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 None. Fowler was poor , and you don't get a MOM for scoring a penalty. Give it to Styles, he was brilliant today.
Guest snez1 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Fowler and Aurelio we're s**** - what are people watching? Agger by a mile. Excellent on the ball, goes forward from the back and didn't have one sticky moment.
surf Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Hyypia. Didnt do anything wrong defensively and came up with a couple of nice passes.
DonRafa Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Fowler and Aurelio we're s**** - what are people watching? Agger by a mile. Excellent on the ball, goes forward from the back and didn't have one sticky moment. Agree with that the boy looks class. Would'nt be at all suprised if he's a regular by the end of the season if he continues in his present form
Maldini Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Reina - nothing to do reallyKromkamp - awfulRiise - not really on long enoughCarra - sameHyypia - did alrightGerrard - quiet for most of the game but sparked the revival in the second halfZenden - never settled, looked like a headless chicken (with highlights) at timesMomo - below par, but still one of our best playersAurelio - abysmal on the goal, played well apart from that, put some great crosses inFowler - a couple of flashes, good peno, tired early thoughBellamy - worked really hard, looked a threat whenever we got the ball to him, didn't get enough of it though Subs - Gonzalez - did nothing in the first half, more involved in the second, look a threat on a few occasionsAgger - another assured performance, he's the real dealPennant - didn't get a chance to do anything
Guest snez1 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Hyypia. Didnt do anything wrong defensively and came up with a couple of nice passes. Except getting skinned a few times by Webber (!) and hoofing too many long balls to no one? He did alright today but nothing more.
eth Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Bellamy was MOM for me, didn't waste anything that came his way, and involved in virtually everything dangerous. Agger was willing, and it's great to see a defender striding out of defense, but of the four times I can remember there were two overhit long balls, one one-two followed by a misunderstanding and a routine save from forty yards. Good defensively, although suspect for the goal I thought. Fowler was poor apart from the penalty, and I thought we missed Crouch in his place. Rafa misjudged the game today imo, reminded me of the painful away results in the first season.
G Richards Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 It's hard to name a man of the match from today. Too many not really firing.
realtarragona Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Fowler was poor. Most of them were. Two players who stand out for me was firstly Agger. Looked better then the rest of the defence when he came on and it's an added bonus to see one of our centre backs running forward with the ball and giving us more options. But I'd probably go with Bellamy. Worked hard, ran the channels, chased lost causes, set up Fowler for a chance he should have taken. It's not really his fault that the service for him was absolute s****.
RafaShanks Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Bellamy for me. Worked his ass off the WHOLE game without any joy. I can't wait for him and Dirk to play up top together. Agger also shone when he came on for Carra.
bobbyboulders Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 (edited) Smartly taken penalty aside, Fowler was rubbish, though not as bad as the disinterested and consistently wrong Kromkamp. Everybody underperformed today. That said, Agger was decent, but Momo was clearly the top man today with a quiet though impressively effective performance, constantly nipping in to win the ball and his passing seems to have improved nicely since last year. He looks quality. Aurelio saw a lot of the ball, and despite a moment of criminal negligence in defense, offered a few glimpses of composure and thoughtfulness (something which the hardworking and honest JAR lacks...get well soon lad). Cooldude Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Agger and Momo were the only ones worth much mentioning, the rest, less said than better. Although we probably won't be the only top side to drop points there this season.
Guest Tom B Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 (edited) Bellamy worked hard and chased a lot down. I'd say he was our MOTM, but he wasn't competing with much. Edited August 19, 2006 by Tom B
