Northern Ireland vs Finland

It's 1 - nil to Norn Iron at half time, Sir David Healy on his 50th appearance.

Sami's played the first 45mins for the Finns and doesn't seem to be stretching himself too much, couple of interceptions, but other than that not too much else. Just doesn't look the same Hyypia playing for Finland which is understandable.

Hopefully he'll come off at half time for a nice rest and Norn Iron will get what would so far be a deserved win.

C'mon Norn Iron!!!!!

Funnily enough...I've had reason to be acquainted with a few members of his family, though not the man himself. There's a lot of mental illness in the males in that family line, that's all I can say...hope our greatest ever goalscorer doesn't end up with the same problem.

Get in!

2:0

18 Year old Kyle Lafferty with a good header following a great cross from Steve Jones on the right. Promising performance considering we've alot of our main players off the park now.

C'mon!

s***!

2:1

Good finish by the finns, Hyypia's limping apparently although it doesn't seem to be serious.

Hope we can hold on now.

Hyypia has been subbed now, 80th minute.

Looked a bit off the pace at times but had a good run out and should be sharper for it.

Full time finished 2:1. Great result and good confidence builder for the Iceland game in a few weeks. Considering we had Steve davis and Damien Johnson missing from the midfield and Aaron Hughes, Healy, and Quinn subbed before they pulled one back the lads done well to hang on. Couple of promising youngsters there as well. All in all very good warm-up and our first away win for 26 months.
