They're going to miss the Charlton and Watford games, which to be honest they should win anyways, but more interestingly they're going to miss the game against Spurs...

Could the endless tide of Manchester United Pro decisions finally be drawing back up the beach to favour other teams?

Liverpool in the 70s and early 80s especially used to get 'interestingly good' decisions from time to time as the Mancs did in the 90s - wonder if it could be our turn again? (Although its more likely to be Chelsea)

I don't, for the record, think that Arsenal ever got a run of 'decisions' in their time?

But they didn't count against Gerrard and Mellor.

I feel the Dutch and the English FA have done a major balls up here.........anyway i'm not complaining, its come at the Mancs expense. ;)

1 of them was for 2 yellows.

I certainly agree that 2 yellows shouldn't warrant a domestic ban, but as I said, if you go in a la Zizou, you should be banned.

Anyway - they're Mancs, course they deserve it & course it's the right decision

Haha! What's amusing is that ManUre fans are now predictably having a right go at the FA for this - even though they have their own man on the FA's commitee! For years they would go on about dodgy Dein who was plotting against them and they celebrated when one of their own got to replace Dein...and ManUre are still getting screwed over.

Then again, Arsenal's time (recently I assume you're talking about) was never really long enough to give them that many good decisions. Although, they did get a few. Not on the level of Utd/Chelsea, but Bergkamp stamping or elbowing, Pires/Cole diving, Henry generally being a bit of a t***, Vieira, Lehmann more recently...

A little bit blinkered there I think. Gerrard has got away with countless lunges, two footed tackles and the odd swallow dive.

Crerand's having a Paddy about it.

Crerand Blasts 'Disgraceful' Bans

Wed 16 Aug, 12:09 PM

Manchester United legend Paddy Crerand has branded the three-match bans for Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes as 'a disgrace'.

The Old Trafford club were staggered to learn yesterday that both Rooney and Scholes must sit out the Premiership encounters with Charlton and Watford later this month, plus the September 9 meeting with Tottenham as a result of their respective dismissals in the pre-season win over Porto in Amsterdam earlier this month.

It had been anticipated Rooney, at least, would be spared punishment by the independent three-man tribunal set up by the Football Association to hear United's appeal against the punishment.

Instead, the panel sided with Dutch referee Ruud Bossen.

While United and manager Sir Alex Ferguson have so far kept their own counsel on the decision, condemnation from around the club has been swift.

And, noting Liverpool pair Steven Gerrard and Neil Mellor escaped any sanction for being sent off in the same competition three years ago, Crerand has been quick to accuse the FA of double standards.

"I have been saying this for a long time, and now people must agree, there is one rule for Manchester United and another for everybody else," Crerand told MUTV.

"I would like to know who the three-man panel actually were because this decision is an absolute disgrace.

"In effect, it is a four-match ban because Wayne and Paul were suspended for the second game in Amsterdam anyway.

"I know Wayne and Paul will be raging, the manager will be raging and United fans will be raging.

"How can you keep a cool head when an injustice like this has been done?"

I really love this bit ""I have been saying this for a long time, and now people must agree, there is one rule for Manchester United and another for everybody else," Crerand told MUTV.

Of course there has you idiot, except all the decisions USED to go in your favor.

The simple solution for the Mancs is to have Mike Riley ref all their pre season games.

It's not a 4-game suspension, is it?

And both were straight reds, one of ours a few years ago was for 2-yellows. Quite different. And the ref was clearly insane in that game

it is 4 games as they were not allowed to play in the next game of the tourney.

For the first time in my life I agree with this g*******

I find in particular it's when it comes to the choice of referees at OT and the number of pens that they award

Ok. So what is that number then? This s**** about United getting loads of Pens is a myth. How many did we get last season and the season before compared to the rest of the top 4?

Whats the point. Its the all too familiar cry of those who team hasnt won the league in ages......because they havent those who have only did it with help from FA/referees/cheating/buying it blah blah blah.....
