We have all spoken about not letting Gerrard go for any money, even XAbi Alonso these days days would not be sold for under 30m in most fans eyes. But what about Momo (Da Beast) Sissoko? Would you let him leave for 25m if it was offered to us at the end of the season? I have seen Diarra, i have seen Essien, Momo is better then both at the DM position. The only thing that he is need of fixing (improving all the time though) is his passing.

He is the Cheapest midfielder that we have (starting lineup). He is probably on no more then 15k a week. He absolutely murdered a world class midfield yesterday that included 3 of the biggest names in Europe.

But would you let him leave? What amount would you accept?

Be honest and try being realistic.

We DO NOT sell our best players. Not for any amount of money.

We only do so if the player still wishes to go after we exhaust all our persuasion on him.

No. If you can name someone who'd cost less, do the same job already with the same potential and at the same age i'd still keep him. No amount of money could replace what he gives us.

How much balls does the guys have, i still have the image of him ripping those protective glasses off at Birmingham last year so that he could play properly, at 5/0 FFS!!!

The guys commitment is second to none, and Rafa's comments last week about him as a player/person is credit to the kid, yes kid!!.

f*** me, the question has to be, does the midfield function without him as I wouldn't replace him but play Gerrard and Alonso together in the centre more. This may sound daft but I don't think we 'NEED' 25m. If we sign Kuyt then the only percieved weakness is LB, either Riise will up his game or Aurelio will take the spot looking medium term. IMO every other position looks sorted other than speding mega bucks. I'd have to say no. We wouldn't be as strong a side without him and the money isn't needed for other players. Therefore I wouldn't sell him unless they offered enough money to buy the new stadium outright :bleh:

I would sooner Alonso left than Sissoko, if I was told this time last year that I would utter those words in just 12 months time then I would not believe it. But hes immense. To even have Manc fans saying how good he is says alot.. they are usually blind to all things talented at Liverpool.

I would, then Rafa could get another 5 Sissoko's or else another Xabi and 3 Sissoko's.

Mourinho would buy another Essien and Ferguson could buy a Carrick.

think you'd be hard pushed to find anyone else of Sissokos age that has his abilities with such consistency.

Though I know what you are saying about Rafa being more shrewd with his cash.

Would you have suggested rafa buy sissoko before he actually made the move?

Exactly. Also bear in mind that our squad is pretty balanced at the moment, and providing a striker is bought by the end of the window (Kuyt looking nailed on), there is not really another position we need to strengthen in.

Momo is already a fantastic player, and should only get better. Someone here said yesterday (I think it was Big Wayne) that in a few years he could become the best midfielder in the world, and I agree. He totally dominated Chelsea's midfield yesterday that consisted of Lampard, Ballack and Essien. How many players in the world can do that?

Just think if someone had told us last year that within 12 months Stevie and Xabi would no longer be automatic choices for CM. Find me one fan who would not have thought that ridiculous.

A massive, massive player, and he seems humble and really down to earth, unlike many of his peers. I think a new improved long term contract is his just reward.

Just think how close he was to signing for the Bitters.

Not a chance, he is absolutely phenomenal now and looks to be improving all the time, he could easily become the best midfielder in the World by the time he's in his late 20's.

I'd be curious to know exactly how pissed off Moyes is.

I too would sell Alonso ahead of him (though I wouldn't in a million years sell him either) - Alonso & Gerrard just don't work that well together in the centre. Sissoko alongside either is brilliant.

what i`m worried about is with all this talk about Momo some rich club will just turn round pay stupid money and walk of with him.Right now he is too important to us to even think about selling him.

absolutly awesome player.I remember watching him play for Valencia thought he was a good player but crap on the ball, god he has imprved over the last year.Credit to rafa and his staff.

This Alonso & Gerrard dont work well thing is another unfounded internet myth. Total bulls***. The few times they got to play together last season they looked, IMO to the best midfield partnership in the premiership. The problem is when you add Momo to the equation, we still have the best midfield partnership in the premiership, the question is which one to play.

t'is a nice problem to have and long my it continue.

We've managed to keep hold of Gerrard and Alonso so what makes you think we wouldn't be able to hang onto Sissoko.

Not for me.

While I do think Xabi is the more talented of the two, he is gonna have job on his hands to remain first choice imo. Momo seems to be improving faster (granted, he does have more to work on than Xabi) and seems to be able to hold a higher level of performance in general than Xabi. At the moment, it is still xabi for me, but if momo keeps up this level of consistency and improvement that could change after this season.

Fantastic 'problem' to have of course.

well said.

If Momo continues developing at his current pace, there's no way we could afford to buy a player like him in a few years time. Selling him now would be short-termist.

We are blessed with three great / potentially great midfielders, let's keep 'em all.
