Guest snez1 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Best player in our 2 games so far by a country mile and is simply fantastic. Still a bit rough round the edges but his passing and keeping hold of the ball ahs improved a lot in the last year. How f***ing good we're those crunching tackles first half? Anyway, if we play 2 centre midfielders Momo has to be one of them, no arguments. I know Xabi and Stevie are wonderful wonderful players but for me if we go 4-4-2 it's Momo and one other. The only games i can see this differing is at home against some s**** teams when I imagine we'll go with Stevie/Xabi in the middle but f***ing hell leaving him out at all is going to be so difficult for Rafa even in those "easier" games. It's not like he'll ever need a rest is it? I think Xabi may well have to spend a little bit of time on the bench this season if Pennant hits top form because quite simply, Momo has to play. He is a monster, the balck Gattuso
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 He's f***ing awesome. That tackle on Ballack was absolute quality, welcome to the Premiership
KD07 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 It might seem ridiculous to drop him, am just glad it's Rafa whom decides when he starts and when he rests.
Benitez Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 makes me laff how now the 'experts' on Sky and BBC have finally cottoned on to Momo
Bootle Buck Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 We have a great selection of midfielders to chose from now and Rafa has the chance to rotate them and keep them fresh. Even Gerrard will play less games this season to keep him fresh after almost two seasons of constant football.
Romario Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 He makes me giddy. After 15 mins of his first pre season game I thought WOW!!!!! He's a f***ing animal....OUR ANIMAL!!
Nebraska Red Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I think he'll play more away games than home games, I think we'll see Alonso, Gerrard, Gonalez/Pennant and Garcia at home more often than not.
floyd Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 (edited) It still scares me, thinking this man monster could of been playing for Gollum. Edited August 13, 2006 by floyd
Benitez Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 It still scares me, thinking this man monster could of been playing for Gollum. he wouldn't have been Momo Monster for them tho, they would have ruined him
Jimi Rojo Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I don't think he is rough around the edges. If he is, what about the rest of them out there as he was clearly the best player on show.
Albertini Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Have to say he raped Ballack a new a****** a few times. Looked to me like Ballack didn't fancy it after that.
Guest snez1 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 he wouldn't have been Momo Monster for them tho, they would have ruined him I was refering to his passing. Still one or two times today when he just opassed it out of play to no one I had to laugh though, thats just Momo and he's improving that side of his game all the time in fairness. Wonderful wonderful talent.

If he is, what about the rest of them out there as he was clearly the best player on show. This myth about this dodgy passing pisses me off. Granted the odd pass ain't great but he's usually passing under pressure after winning the ball from 5 slide tackles in a row. He's quality and Rafa said as much with a smile on his face. Feck me thank god he didn't end up with you know who.
Swipe Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I don't think he is rough around the edges. If he is, what about the rest of them out there as he was clearly the best player on show. I agree. He was a rough when he first came, but his composure, skill, and passing has improved by a million miles. Proving himself to be quite a dribbler!! Brilliant, brilliant signing.
RafaShanks Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Madrid are preparing to fax over (not e-mail) a bid.

floyd Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Madrid are preparing to fax over (not e-mail) a bid. The dodgy b4stards would have to sell off another training ground to get his right foot.
Guest Sabre Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 That guy just runs and runs. He was a monster today.
Gunga Din Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 he isnt 22 till January 07. i actually think he is every bit as good as Stevie was (although a different style of player) at the same age. the guy is f***ing awesome.
gkmacca Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I just laughed at times today, the things he did were so ridiculously neat and clever and athletic. What a player! Is his sight still improving? He said it was still about 75% at the end of last season.
Guest Sabre Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Some of those challenges were fantastic - mostly fair and always crunching
Coyler Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Animal again to-day. Improvement in his control and passing over last season on evidence in this game and the Maccabi game is unbelievable, I'm still gobsmacked. Definitely undroppable. Hehehe, just imagine Moyes sitting in his greenhouse with his champagne watching that match on Sky to-day...

He said it was still about 75% at the end of last season. thats what makes his performances all the more amazing! to think what he went through with that injury, genuine fear about his future. And here he is, like fec all ever happened! I remember reading late last season, think it was Rick Parry actually who said it in his article in the Liverpool magazine - how Momo came back from that with no fuss at all. Just slotted straight back in. He really is a warrior.
