New York Red Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Rafa didn't want to sell him, just loan him. McLaren has called him up for England. Might he be back some day? He's a very imposing figure and had all the raw material to be an awesome goalkeeper. Maybe he'll get over his fragility and do a good job for us?
psl Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I'm sure Rafa would have sold him if someone would have offered some money for him.
Rimbeux Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Rafa wanted to sell him, but could only get him away on loan, with a deal done in Jan if he stays fit. I wish him all the best, his days here are over.
R A Softlad Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I'm sure Rafa would have sold him if someone would have offered some money for him. Is correct.
MikeK88 Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Kirkland probably wouldn't want to come back either. He'd be a 2nd choice keeper, and no footballer wants to spend a whole season on the bench when they have the option of being first choice at another premiership club.

Chas Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 He ain't coming back...Rafa has (an)other preference(s)
Guest Scot Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I think Rafa loaned him so he'd get fit and play well so we can sell him.No future with us I don't think. Never really thought he looked much good at Liverpool, injuries or not.
Ombudsam Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 he conceeded another goal today he should have stopped. His last spell in goal for us was dreadful. He was good the other times but then got injured
George Costanza Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Rafa didn't want to sell him, just loan him. I think you'll find nobody wanted to buy him because of his injury record. A loan with a view to a permanent deal was the best we could hope for. Hope the lad stays fit & does well for Wigan.
Guest evil_billy Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Has anyone ever considered wrapping him up like an ice-hockey goalie? It might keep him injury free long enough to actually see how good he really is...
Maldini Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 he conceeded another goal today he should have stopped. His last spell in goal for us was dreadful. He was good the other times but then got injuredSaw that, his positioning seems to be awful, he should never have let that in. Bad footwork too, his momentum was going the other way. Didn't he slag off "Ocho"'s methods while at West Brom last year? Can't see him coming back
