Heard a few tubes saying they thought (for instance) the game on Wednesday was 'a bit boring'

f*** off you know-nothing Sky Generation w*****s.

Go and f***ing watch some other sport where you don't need 90 goals to see a 'good game'

f***ing tossers.

not the greatest game by any stretch of the imagination but a match of that magnitude with so much at stake could never be called boring.

Don't think it will be the end of it, wouldn't suprise me if the rest of the season we get the "boring" jibe thrown at us. Particularly from the Mancs who are high and mighty about being successful means every game should be played where it is open, fast flowing football. Unfortunately it is mainly the Sky generation who thinks a game isn't boring unless it continually entertains for every second of the game.

Sorry I should be more clear - no one who went said it was 'boring' - just know-nothings that watched it on telly.

If they don't like football - they should watch something 'exciting' like baseball, basketball and American Football and leave Football for real fans.

Nothing boring about it at all. It was a good game, decent tempo, with some excllent passing and movement.

Stuff 'em. It would make me enjoy victory even more if it pisses such fans off.

I very much enjoyed the game - a good challenge with chances at both ends and quite a few tactics going on - plus nice to see the new lads doing well.

The mancs use that 'boring' tag when they aren't winning anything. It helps ease the pain of our current revival.

Funny the way the media report things as well.

BBC and Sky were basically labelling us as lucky and playing poorly - whenever the Mancs (for instance) get a last minute winner - they 'dont give up' are 'plucky' and 'achieved a good win' etc.

Either the media are trying it on - or most 'experts' have succombed to this sky vision of what football should be.

Baseball is the most boring game ever invented. It's all stat driven...tedious in the extreme, unless there's a few homers.

Andy, its something everyone has to get used to that, a team that comes, puts 11 men behind the ball and bores the s*** out of the game are never called boring c****, they are called defensive strategy, and plucky etc etc

The Sky watching gonks we have are as bad as the Sky watching gonks you have

If they want to make their own minds up and appreciate whats going on fine - but if they just trot out tired b******s then it's not is it?

And yes - I've seen Monkey United get a spawny last minute (7 minutes after the final whistle sometimes) win and the press w*** all over them 'plucky Monkeys fight back' 'Amazing last gasp winner' etc.. etc..

I didn't think we had that many chances to be honest, and our play was overly cautious.

Although we had most of the ball, the best chances fell to them and were the header which edged wide and the one Reina saved with his legs at the death.

To be quite honest I thought we were quite boring all things considered; watching the new arrivals do so well was exciting, but overall our play was extremely laboured against opposition we really should have spanked...

Don't agree - I was more than happy with the way we approached the game - it was always going to be a tricky tie - and no team is 'easy' to beat.

We picked up as the game went on and I never expect us to ever spank anyone

Agreed. How some fans expect us to be at fult pelt and playing total football at this stage is beyond me, especially with a few new players finding their feet.

Also, this attitude that we should be "spanking teams" is a load of nonsense. The days of beating part timers 9-0 at home are long gone. Like the mighty Milan showed when they could only beat Crvena Zvezda 1-0.

So what you're saying here is scraping a win against Maccabi Haifa at home with them having the best chances is totally acceptable?

It amazes me people can't say we're crap when we are. 1-1 would have been a fair but potentially disasterous result, and it could have been worse again than that but for a great save at the end and a few inches to the left with that header. You'd be hard pushed to think of any chances we had of a similar standard - a deflected free-kick was about the best.

We've had a poor pre-season, and that was like a nasty hangover from it; we can't afford to be in 2nd gear when the season starts because Chelsea will be out of sight by October.

Maybe you were happy with that performance, but I hope Rafa wasn't.

Any team can improve - but I thought we tried to move it forward without going gung ho.

Your view of the game appears to be about the result - which I personally believe is unrealistic.

Each to their own and all that.
