Does anyone receive this alternative treatment?

I've recently been getting treatment for my wrist - it hurts like hell when they stick pins into the joint and stings and aches while the pins are in there - but it seems to be ok afterwards - when the tingling and numbness subsides.

 

Any other ideas (apart from steriod injection) that i can help my poor wrist?
