Serko Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 (edited) One of the funniest threads ever. just some of the snippets Message 69 - posted by lee1sa (U1798890) , 12 Hours Ago Compare the Arsenal and Liverpool's 1st eleven Lehmann vs Reina - Lehmann Eboue vs Finnan - EboueCashley vs (Whoever is going to be 1st cohice) - CashleyToure vs Hyppia - ToureCarragher vs Senderos - CarragherReyes vs (Garcia or Kewell) - ReyesFabregas vs Alonso - Fabregasgerrard vs Gilberto - GerrardLjungbers vs Pennant - LjungbergHenry vs Crouch - Henry of coursev.Persie vs Bellamy - V.Persie From this you can tell that Arsenal 1st 11 is a lot better than Liverpool's 1st eleven. Only Gerrard and Carragher would get into Arsenal's 1st team so this is why Arsenal will finish above Liverpool Message 63 - posted by Bad Badger (U1745121) , 13 Hours Ago Sorry Liverpool but the pre-season results to me reflect the acquisitions you have made. I will always root for you guys in a neutral situation but Rafa looks to have sold you down the river. I hope this is not the case but is there a signing that's brought you up to Man U or Chelsea standard this close season? Message posted by It's Gooner Be Great! No offence to Liverpool but they rely so much on Gerrard, that if he picks up an major injury, I can seriously see them outside the top 6 or 7 next season, he's that important for them. Alonso's a good passer but never has the phrase 'one man team' better suited a club than Liverpool at the moment. Edited August 7, 2006 by Serko
Serko Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 and the best one is Message 16 - posted by It's Gooner Be Great! (U3232075) , 13 Hours Ago With the exception of Gerrard and Alonso, there's not a single Liverpool player who'd get into the Spurs first eleven (and this is coming from a Gooner!) I considered King v Carragher but King is outstanding and the sooner he makes the move like Sol did, the better!
Benitez Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 fan in 'believing their team to be better than another' shocker. Whatever next!
lfc_col Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 fan in 'believing their team to be better than another' shocker. Whatever next! there on aomething if you ask me ledley king better than carragher best load of s**** i've ever heard
Ostrich Man Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 still if you think thats one of the funniest threads ever...... there on aomething if you ask me ledley king better than carragher best load of s**** i've ever heardits crazy isnt it....its almost as if their opinions differ in someway to yours about players. that way madness lays.
Ben 23 Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 An Arsenal fan talking about one man teams, how ironic.
Cobs Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 fan in 'believing their team to be better than another' shocker. Whatever next! It'll be managers of opposing teams not rating our chances of winning the League as highly as we do, i'm telling you.
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Alonso, Gerrard, Hyypia (despite his speed) and Reina would all get into the Arsenal side no question. That lad is an idiot for citing Fabregas ahead of Alonso.
NWR Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Alonso, Gerrard, Hyypia (despite his speed) and Reina would all get into the Arsenal side no question. That lad is an idiot for citing Fabregas ahead of Alonso. Why?
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Why? Because Alonso would walk into any team in world football, Fabregas has huge potential but is clearly not the complete player Xabi is.
NWR Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Because Alonso would walk into any team in world football, Fabregas has huge potential but is clearly not the complete player Xabi is. Its still down to opinions. They are both excellent players. Its a bit like the gerrard vs Keane debates of 4 or 5 years back.
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Its still down to opinions. They are both excellent players. Its a bit like the gerrard vs Keane debates of 4 or 5 years back. I don't agree. Fabregas has shown potential but is clearly not in Xabi's league. Gerrard clearly had the edge over Keane in terms of pace and shooting towards the end but the mancs could justify choosing him over Gerrard. Fabregas doesn't make the contributions Xabi does. Maybe one day he will but at present it would be Xabi in the team every week.

Guest Jack Bauer Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 @ Alonso over Fabregas. Probably thinks Carrick is better an all.
NWR Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 @ Alonso over Fabregas. Probably thinks Carrick is better an all. He is.
Ostrich Man Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 @ Alonso over Fabregas. Probably thinks Carrick is better an all.im guessing you meant the other way about.
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Surely with Fabregas v Alonso, although both Spanish and great passers of the ball, it is like comparing Didi and Gerrard - one plays withdrawn and one advanced.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 im guessing you meant the other way about. Obviously
Guest Budo Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Ha! They're all worried about us then! Had a good feeling about this coming season before, now I'm REALLY starting to enjoy it!
floyd Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 must hurt those cokney's never too have seen one of these. Shame
Guest snez1 Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 (edited) Some funny s*** there. Fabregas is some talent but no where near as consistant as Xabi and is regularly bullied in games (he was s**** for most of last season but 1 good month got him into the limlight of the cockney press). Someone mentioned it's like comparing Keane (in his prime) and Stevie. What comparisson is that? Keane was a great defensive midfield hard c*** but as a footballer he falls way short of Stevie. Them 2 in midfield would have everything but Gerrard has won more games on his own for us than Keane ever did for the mancs and psises al over him in terms of every department bar some defensive aspects side of the game. He's far more complete at 25 than Keane ever was. He's quicker, a better passer, scores more, more versatile, more disciplined and better on the ball than Keane was. Having said that i think Keane was a great great leader and one of the best defensive midfielders ever but i hate it when Stevie is compared to either Keane Or Vieira as he's a far more rounded player than either of those 2 ever were. Maldini Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Just revive the thread at the end of the season when we're champions

harpoon Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 missed the most important comparison: Rafa vs Arsene. Don't even need to say who the winner there is. Plus, they forgot to mention Momo, Fowler, Gonzalez, Agger...shows our depth vs theirs at the moment.
