Men and Women in sports

Should the time be approaching where Men and Women should be allowed to compete in sports on a completely even footing?

 

What would the effects be and which sports would favour which sex?

 

I imagine at first that it may be unequal in certain spheres - but as time went on and sex became less important you could have genuine competition that didn't have to take account of sex.

 

If people want to compete with each other - then why not let them?

 

Secondly, how do you think women would get on in certain sports - there are a fair few that there shouldn't be an unfair advantage to men - which ones do you think would favour women? Which ones would favour men and which ones really shouldn't be much different.

 

With 'sports' I'm including athletics, ball games, swimming, pub-type games etc. etc. there is no limit.
