Andy @ Allerton Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 When a new manager comes in to a team, I know he usually brings his own backroom staff, but do the scouts also change? Not usually..
Benitez Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 it did with us. Rafa bought in his own head scout - Paco Herrera then Eduardo Macia, and they also set up scouting networks elswhere so I guess he had a hand in picking those as well. Some of the other scouts stayed as well I'm sure, cos Herrera and Macia work alongside a scout that was here before.
Maldini Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 There was a story (in Ballague's book I think) about how Rafa sent all the scouts to a game and asked them to do a report, the ones whose reports were similar to what he saw were kept on the others were let go.
