JGL Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Its simple if you come from Liverpool...Red or Blue... Where I come from they could turn out any old shade.....red (x2), royal blue, sky blue or even Wigan these days So even from conception I talked to the little fella, and made sure that he was aware of who to support..He has always said the right things and repeated the Liverpool stuff, but the crux is school.......he is best mates are Daniel (Liverpool) and Liam (Everton)....so you just never know Anyway, end of his 1st year at infants.....we are sent his school books.....Amongst the dodgy paintings and the early scribbled writings (and one class b******ing....he has to colour in fruit.....and the teacher has written..."sam knows what colours the fruits are, but insisted on colouring them all red)......is a task called my my name is Sam and I like......"STEVEN GERRARD" followed by a stick man drawing of him kicking a ball good lad What a sad story... I feel so sorry for Liam

mrjunk Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 My boy is 9 now, and even with his grandfather trying to warp his fragile little mind in a blue way, sense has prevailed and he's a fanatical red!
Buzz Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 My lad (4) likes Liverpool But his favourite colour is blue Does that make me a bad parent

charlie clown Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I'd always said when my kids were little that I would let them make their own mind up and hope that the fact that almost all of our fmaily are Reds would push them in the right direction. My eldest (and therefore the first kid to be subject to this liberal minded approach) shook me out of this madness by announcing, after being asked who his favourite team was, 'Man United' (the incidious influence of school mates and the early nineties media frenzy over their revival). I rang up the next day for match tickets at Anfield and he has never looked back. Red through and through. I didn't make the same mistake with the other two though, just told they were Reds from day one.
Guest 7777 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 My lad (4) likes Liverpool But his favourite colour is blue Does that make me a bad parent Yes, have a word with yourself And never buy him a Chelsea or Everton kit just because he likes it or Sportsworld are selling them cheap! My lad has a load of Mancs on his mums side but he is a proper little red, spits on Shoot Out cards with Lamplard or Horseface on
LondonLiverpoolFan Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I started the brainwashing straight away with my daughter. She had her Liverpool baby grows and the first song she could sing (before twinkle twinkle etc) was YNWA. Her favourite song at the moment is Liverbird upon my chest and Look at the face of Michael Ball! She's big enough now for a junior kit (rather than the infants one) so is demanding to have the number 8 and Gerrard on the back of her new shirt as lots of her friends have Lampard & Terry on their Chelsea shirts. "I want to show them who the best player in the world is Daddy" Brings a tear to the eye.

But keeps saying he wants everything else in BLUE !. I reckon it his mums fault, "Let him like who he likes". Her and her freinds are too bloody liberal!. Her sister bought him a bloody toy Dyson vacum cleaner for his second christmas and another one gave him a bloody push chair and doll !I dread to think what is going on when I am at work, thank god he starts school in September.
Mick_G Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 My 3 1/2 year old lad was in nursery last week , there were all singing songs in turn , My lad gave a full rendition of fields of Anfield Road . Felt so proud when the nursery staff told me
RP Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 On holiday last week my 8 year old daughter came up to me and just announced that she thinks Jon Arne Riise is great. "Why?" I asked. "Cos he broke Alan Smith's leg" Her mother was delighted, naturally.

Rico Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 That was almost 2 years ago, when he was 2. He's turning 4 on Sunday. The indoctrination started young, but as Anny Road points out, peer pressure and wanting to "fit in" at school may be a key factor. He starts school in a few weeks... I may be failing, though. When I was in Istanbul (\o/), the rest of the family watched the final on telly at home. My daft kid decided he wanted the "ones in white" to win. Needless to say, I have steered him back toward the path of right at any opportunity. I dare say I'll be taking him to his first game, soon. Shame about the blue bottle, mind. Wife's doing, that.
