These stats were SUCCESSFUL long passes last season.

 

apparently Carra ATTEMPTED the second most (after Carrick). This seems to indicate "hoofing", yes, but Sami is better at it than Jamie .....

I have absolutely no problem with Alonso being at Liverpool and Carrick being at United and Opta coming up with this statistic.
