oh my god, where do i start!

the conference was good, the hotel was nice (but let us down in the end), food was ok - a bit bland, traffic is unbelieveable. The honking and beeping of cars is unbelieveable.

Taxi drivers are crazy and annoying. Men there, in general, are annoying. As women are mostly hidden from society it's the men you have to deal with for everything. Walking down the street they feel compelled to say 'welcome, where are you from, and you want a taxi/papyrus/perfume?'

The heat was mostly bearable.

The stomach problems didn't start until 3 days into the trip - I managed a bacterial virus which i thought was cool as others just had plain old diarrhea, whereas I had nausea, pain, chills/fever...lasted 3 days.

 

Egyptian museum was great, we hired a guide so got thro a lot of it, albeit swiflty.

Pyramids and sphinx was amazing to see, but the harrassment from sellers and horsemen was overbearing.

 

All in all it was a good trip..
