Sure why would he go to England when Cork are paying him 2k a week?

Nothing wrong with that sentiment.

Though he is a scumbag. As is Richardson. The latter looks drunker though.

Boavista are in for him apparantly.

Really ? I know Slavia Prague were linked but that's the first I heard of Boavista. Who knows, maybe we can get a bidding war going and get up to ?75,000 for him :)

There's nothing wrong with poor old Rico, other than the fact that he uses 1,500 words in interviews when 5 or 6 would suffice :)

Was mentioned on Newstalk106 this morning.

Another big loss for City..losing Kearney on a free to Ollie Byrnes nomads, Doyle grossly undervalued when sold. No objection to them selling George but j*sus why didn't they capitalise on being league champions and strengthen the squad. Drogs have passed them out and Derry are better than last year as well - hmmh I smell inter-toto next year

What was it that him and Richardson fell out over does anyone know?

The size of Rico Suave's moustache, allegedly.

Officially it's over Richardson publicly criticising O'Callaghan after he got sent off against Shels(?) last month. The rumours down here are that the club told George to take some time off to get his act together. Apparently he has gone heavy on the booze and the harder stuff lately.

Worringly O'Callaghans solicitor, through whom he does all his communicating with the club and the media now, is disgraced athlete Cathal Lombard. :o

But I'm right in saying there were 'tensions' between the two before that weren't there?

It must be about the tache alright sean, only thing that makes sense.

Yeah, lived there for a while so started watching them for my sins.

I think they made a huge mistake by not making a trade at the deadline but we'll see what happens.

I agree. If only Trot Nixon had got injured prior to the deadline, they might have played a more active role in the Booby Abreu sweepstakes.

As for pitching....

Pity Clemens picked the Astros. Apparently his wife and advisors both suggested he pick Boston. If only.....

Read that they were close at one stage to picking up Roy Oswalt from the Astros. Probably for Jon Lester and a couple of smi-decent prospects.

As for their current pitching staff, was reading today that Clement is cooked for the season. Hopefully Wells recovers to No.3 starter level. He had no ill-effects after the game the other day. If so they will have something like

Schilling

Beckett

Wells

Wakefield

Lester

All of them healthy and all of them producing the goods would easily get the Sox into the playoffs.

I recognize that as baseball talk.

Fecking Setanta has me up till three o'clock every night watching the NASN coverage .

They still haven't shown my erstwhile local team, the Orioles, yet.

I know nothing about it except it's f*cking brilliant and I'm always up for the team of the pitcher that first gives up a few hits. Or whoever's playing the Yankees.

Good man Coyler. Yankees suck as they say. Unfortunately, the Orioles suck ass in a major way. Until, they get rid of their current owner, nothing much will change there.

You jammy b*****d for having Setanta. Celbridge is in Chorus country. To make things worse, the bloody developers had a dispute with them and it was never piped into the estate. Waiting until the rugby restarts before i tell the missus that we're getting the dish . She's knows better than to deprive me of Munster. Will add in Setanta then.

As for you good Boca. I was pleasantly surprised to see Wells make it back. Sounds like he busted his lardass to get on the mound. If he's able to hobble through the next 2-3 months, then they have a decent no.3 starter.

Wakefield will be fine. had a cracked rib. Should be back soon.

Lester is definitely inexperienced. This season should develop him greatly for the future. Hoping that he'll be a very good no.3 or average no.2 for many years to come.

You must be new to the whole Red Sox supporting experience. I can detect a glimmer of optimism in your posts that is completely at odds with what this team will do to you. :)

BTW check out post #5 of the Children thread in the General Forum. f***ed if I know what happened there :hmm:
