Bloody good in the transfer market isn't he? Keeps it simple - signs good players for reasonable sums of money and sells if he gets a stupid offer.

Effectively signing Zokora for Carrick plus £12m is ridiculously good business, and I think Berbatov will prove to be an excellent signing as well.

He's kept the heart of the side British as well, bringing in quality young players like Lennon and Huddlestone.

Very impressed by his work so far there, think they could be at least closer to the top four this season...

Comolli more like.

Martin Jol is only the head coach.

Spuds still seem to have a bit of a scatter-gun approach to signing I think :D

I get a bit of a Houllier feeling from him in the sense that he can take average players very far with his management but that he does not have that extra 5% to 10% to win major honours even if he got his hands on a great team.

he's a good manager, for sure.

Why hello there Rafa. ;)

Houllier won major honours with us.

They've bought too many players. What the f*** has happened to the likes of Wayne Routledge? Plays all the time for Palace, gets hyped up, signs for spurs, plays a couple of games, disappears of the face of the earth for a while then gets loaned out to Pompey.

Glen Johnson must be his career advisor.

I think casting a wide net and buying a promising youngsters is a good strategy for a club like spurs who doesn't have the funds or pulling power to attract big names. Obviously there will be some who don't work out, such as routledge who find himself behind Lennon, an even more promising youngster. Even then, they can sell them on without a huge loss and those that do work out like carrick, they can sell on for a good profit.

Spurs have the funds.

With Regards to Carrick, I really think they will miss him, I was at their game against Inter Milan yesterday on business and you could tell from the midfields movement and inability to find the right pass that he was a key player for them. They had Tainio, Davids, Keane and Routeledge in midfield so where basically set out as they would(swap Routeledge for Lennon and Davids for Zakora) but it was just the ball going side ways and then losing it. David Pizarro was running the midfield and Davids was showing his age.

Berbatov is every bit as lazy as I have heard as well, he will jump for a header and then just stand still. He does not look up for a pass he just hits it and his movement was non existent. Dont get me wrong he may well score goals but as a all round player I think he would be one of the easier strikers to mark.

so it wasn't set out as it will be then ;)

Lennon, Zokora, Davids, Jenas is maybe more likely.

They'll probably use the Carrick money to buy a left winger and right back now. Downing and Chimbonda probably.

They probably will miss Carrick but the fee will definitley soften the blow. Didn't watch that much of Spurs last season but thought he ran the show against Arsenal at Highbury.

Appart from Lennon and Routledge being the same kind of player as are Davids and Lennon then yes you are right. Jenas wont play much, it will be Tainio rather than Jenas.

He described Carrick as the best playemaker in England in his position yesterday. Can only assume that position is driving up the M6

Good player but that's funny.

I think they've a very good squad. Must be heartbreaking for Villa fans watching Spurs invest in all these players whilst Doug Ellis asks his billionaire buyers for chocolate teabags, hens teeth and rocking horse s*** on top of their £70m offers.

" Can you tie a knot in a cherry stick using your teeth ? No ? Then no deal. "
